About Catch-e:

Catch-e is a mature Australia-based SaaS platform that has served the automotive finance, novated leasing, salary packaging, and fleet management sectors for nearly two decades. Trusted by enterprise clients in highly regulated industries, it supports quoting, compliance, and reimbursement workflows with deep domain expertise and an ISO 27001–certified infrastructure.

To strengthen its market position against emerging AI-native competitors, Catch-e is investing in product and engineering talent, architectural modernization, and AI-driven innovation. As part of this strategy, the company will establish a new development center in Chennai, India, within the Banyan Technology Hub, complementing its existing team in Australia.

Market Context:

Australia’s fleet management sector faces disruption from AI-native entrants who can leverage large language models, predictive analytics, and connected-vehicle data to deliver faster, cheaper, and more automated solutions. To remain competitive, Catch-e must evolve into a future-ready, AI-capable platform that can meet the needs of tomorrow’s industry through innovation in areas like:

  • Speed to market as a differentiator – leverage cloud-native and AI capabilities to deliver new features and customer value faster than emerging competitors.
  • Workflow automation – digital-first platforms may bypass established leasing/finance processes.
  • Cost-to-serve advantage – AI copilots, chatbots, and self-service portals reduce service overhead.
  • Sustainability and fleet transformation insights – generate more value from telematics, driver behavior, carbon reporting, and electric vehicle adoption.
  • New user paradigms – chat-first copilots, multimodal input (e.g., images/docs), and “answers-not-apps” UX.

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) to lead Catch-e through its next phase of AI-enabled growth, product innovation, technical evolution, and operational scale.

This role combines Product and Technology leadership, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Product, Operations, and Commercial leaders.

The CPTO will be accountable for defining and delivering Catch-e’s dual transformation strategy:

  1. Modernize & secure the platform – delivering resilience, scale, and compliance through architectural renewal, cloud-native services, and security uplift.
  2. Accelerate AI-powered product innovation – shaping a differentiated roadmap that anticipates AI disruption, creates new revenue opportunities, and strengthens customer value.

The ideal candidate is a proven SaaS leader who can modernize a complex platform, build and manage a high-performing team (onshore and offshore), embed AI across the organization, and ensure security and compliance in regulated markets.

Over time, the CPTO may also take on broader mandates across additional Banyan operating companies as part of Banyan’s permanent home model.

Key Responsibilities:

Set and deliver the Product & Technology strategy – align modernization, AI adoption, and innovation with Catch-e’s long-term business goals.

  • Develop and own the product roadmap – anticipate AI disruption, foster innovation, unlock new revenue opportunities, and ensure alignment with customer and compliance needs.
  • Modernize and secure the platform – drive the migration to PHP8, microservices, and event-driven architectures, while strengthening security and privacy as fractional CISO.
  • Embed AI across engineering and product – apply GenAI to accelerate development and deliver differentiated customer experiences (e.g., copilots, multimodal, proactive workflows).
  • Build and scale high-performing teams – grow and mentor Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Data functions.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively – partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations, and communicate strategy and execution clearly at board level.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven track record building and scaling SaaS applications, including driving growth, operational scale, and long-term adoption.
  • 10+ years in senior technology and product leadership roles (e.g., Sr Director, VP, CPTO, CTO, CPO).
  • Demonstrated roadmap leadership – able to define and deliver a future-ready roadmap that anticipates AI disruption, fosters innovation, and creates new revenue opportunities.
  • Strong background in modernizing SaaS platforms and leading cloud-native/API-first transformations.
  • Experience with security and compliance in regulated environments (ISO 27001, Australian Privacy Act, OWASP, SIEM).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise in PHP (PHP8, Symfony, Laravel) with ability to guide transitions toward AI/ML, Python, data platforms, and microservices.
  • Experience transforming monolithic applications into microservices using event-driven and modular design.
  • Familiarity with domain-driven design, business capability decomposition, and strangler migration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and automation.
  • Industry experience in fleet management, automotive finance, salary packaging, or other regulated sectors.
  • Success introducing AI-enabled user paradigms (e.g., chat-first, multimodal, agentic workflows) in B2B SaaS.
  • Experience identifying new revenue opportunities, developing technology and business partnerships, and shaping pricing and packaging of products and offers.
  • Experience in scaling and managing offshore and cross-functional teams internationally.
