Metrology Technician | Quality

Our Metrology Technicians perform a wide variety of inspections and investigations to ensure conformity with the type design engineering data. Metrology Technicians use both advanced equipment (laser trackers, portable arm CMM's) and traditional inspection equipment (micrometers, height gages, comparators, etc.) to inspect a wide variety of dimensional features. They document results, identify defects, and troubleshoot dimensional deviations to find root causes.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Perform Quality Control inspections & testing per executable Metrology programs and inspection work instructions in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Learn to develop Metrology programs for a variety of advanced inspection equipment.
- Create custom easily-interpreted Metrology reports for inspections and investigations.
- Inspect, report on, and help maintain manufacturing tooling and work holding jigs. Directly improve and maintain the quality and ease airframe assembly.
- Follow Non-Conformance control procedures to identify and prevent escape of dimensional defects.
- Retrieval and interpretation of technical data packages, including GD&T interpretation.
- Perform First Article Inspections per AS9102.
- Complete required documentation and enter into ERP system.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to create programs in a Graphical User Interface or Scripted User Interface. Metrology-specific programming not required.
- Experience or exposure to GD&T - performing dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, etc.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and/or web based software.
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
- Proficiency in GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Experience with AS9100 or other quality management systems.
- Working knowledge of CAD software including Catia, SolidWorks, or Onshape.
- Certification from American Society for Quality (ASQ).
- Experience with Metrology software such as PolyWorks, Calypso, Verisurf, or PC-DMIS., inspection equipment such as Laser Trackers, portable CMM arms, bridge CMM's, etc.
- Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma.
- Experience with FAA regulations and Aerospace conformity requirements.
- Experience interfacing with Business Enterprise Systems such as Plex.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Ability to meet OSHA's physical requirement for distant visual acuity, you must have at least 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without corrective lenses.

$28 - $34 USD
