India Accountant specializing in expense report review and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of employee expense reports through the organization's expense management system (Concur and Netsuite). This role involves auditing submitted expenses, adhering to company policies and local regulations, and supporting employees with queries. The position requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and familiarity with accounting principles.

Global Accounting Manager, and working in very close collaboration with Procurement, Treasury and FP&A.
Key Responsibilities
Expense Report Review and Processing:
- Review employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
- Verify receipts, supporting documentation, and expense categorization in the system.
- Flag discrepancies or policy violations and work with employees to resolve them.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, such as GST and TDS, for reimbursable expenses.
- Maintain accurate records of all expense reports for internal and external audits.
- Assist in enforcing travel and expense policies, suggesting updates where necessary.
Expense Management System Operations:
- Use the company's expense reporting system to process and monitor expense submissions.
- Assist employees in navigating the expense management system and troubleshooting issues.
- Generate and analyse reports to identify trends and provide insights to management.
Reconciliation and Reporting:
- Reconcile employee expense accounts with ledger balances.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing relevant expense data.
- Highlight any patterns of non-compliance or frequent errors in submissions.
Employee Support and Training:
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding reimbursement and expense policies.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on submitting expense reports correctly.
- Act as the first point of contact for system-related queries or escalations.
Ideal core qualifications, experience, attributes and skills
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounts or expense management roles, preferably in a shared services or multinational environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in expense management systems (e.g., Concur, Expensify, Zoho Expense).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).
- Understanding of GST, TDS, and other local tax regulations related to employee expenses.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors in financial documents.
- Effective communication skills to interact with employees across different levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and summarize data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multinational companies or global processes.
- Familiarity with foreign currency transactions and expense reporting for cross-border travel
