WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
We are looking for a hands-on individual with the people skills to work with individuals across the organization. This role is an important technical accounting resource within Box and will report into our Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment. This is a chance to join one of the fastest-growing companies in the Valley.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Partner with Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, Rev Ops and Sales Reps and serve as the accounting focal point on revenue recognition, pricing, and contract structuring
- Review revenue contracts to ensure revenue recognition compliance
- Perform technical accounting analysis on complex accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly close processes and supporting operational teams with accounting matters as the subject matter expert, including other ad hoc projects as needed
- Perform pricing assessments and work with business partners to support pricing initiatives
WHO YOU ARE
Required Skills
- 3-4 years of relevant experience from public accounting and/or public multinational high-tech companies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Preferred Skills
- CPA (strongly preferred)
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP accounting principles with a strong knowledge in revenue recognition principles
- Ability to work with senior management and influence decision making
- Excellent project management, oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, analytical, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce
- Passion for cloud technologies
