WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
As a US-based Agile Coach, you will help Engineering and Product teams deliver high value for the business collaborating across the organizations to continuously improve how they plan, collaborate, deliver and address feedback. You will coach teams on Scrum and Lean-Agile practices, strengthen operational excellence across agility, predictability, and quality, and support adoption of our build processes. You are proactive, flexible, people-focused, and comfortable working across teams and stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
This role sits within Technical Program Management (TPM) and Engineering Business Operations (EBOS) and partners closely with Engineering and Product teams and leaders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Author and maintain enablement materials and workshops (Scrum/Lean-Agile, facilitation toolkits, Build Way of Working, and ensure alignment with other operational processes), keeping content current as processes evolve.
- Coach Engineering and Product teams on Scrum and Lean-Agile practices to improve operational excellence across agility, predictability, and quality.
- Provide tailored coaching, enablement, and best practices for agile implementation based on team engagements, including participation in team ceremonies, real-life observation, and follow-up deep dives when needed.
- Collaborate with the Build leadership to define and drive actionable metrics related to the teams performance/execution
- Help teams strengthen backlog health (clarity, readiness, sizing/estimation, acceptance criteria, prioritization) so teams can execute with fewer surprises and less rework.
- Improve cross-team collaboration by helping teams surface dependencies earlier, align on shared outcomes, and reduce delivery friction across Engineering and Product (especially around multi-team planning).
- Connect day-to-day execution to outcomes by helping teams translate OKR alignment into concrete working agreements, including clear Definition of Ready/Done expectations and strong delivery hygiene.
- Apply Data-driven approaches by using key agile delivery metrics and signals to identify patterns, ask the right questions, and help teams focus on the highest-leverage improvement actions.
- Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, TPMs, and cross-functional stakeholders to support cross-functional programs through better coordination habits.
- Engage technical and architecture teams on technical agility and engineering discipline, including DevOps practices (BDD, test automation etc.) that reduce rework and improve quality.
- Support adoption of new processes and tools through pilots, feedback loops, and practical change management so improvements land smoothly and stick.
- Contribute to an agile learning culture by sharing best practices and enabling forums that help teams learn from each other.
WHO YOU ARE
- 10+ years of experience as an Agile Practitioner and leader (Agile Coach or Scrum Master preferred) with strong understanding of Scrum and Lean-Agile principles in large-global enterprises.
- Expert in creating enablement content related to Agile practice and delivering value (workshops, playbooks, onboarding materials) and scaling practices.
- Experience coaching teams and partnering closely with Engineering, Product, TPM, and leadership.
- Strong facilitation skills, stakeholder management and comfort coaching teams through real-world planning and delivery situations,, not just training concepts.
- Practical understanding of SDLC and modern engineering practices, with the ability to engage engineers on BDD, test automation, and DevOps practices.
- Comfortable using delivery metrics and outcomes to guide coaching conversations and help teams focus on meaningful improvement actions.
- Expert in driving change in organization of various sizes ensuring adoption stick through feedback loops and continuous improvement.
- Strong EQ and the ability to establish trusted relationships and influence without authority.
- Working knowledge of common collaboration and delivery tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, Jellyfish etc.).
- Growth-minded and open to learning; able to ramp into Box context quickly and continuously improve your coaching approach through feedback and reflection.

United States Pay Range
$175,500 - $219,500 USD
