What you'll do:

• Partner with Product Management, Business Development and Engineering leaders to build a compelling vision, scope new features, provide project estimates and milestones to inform on quarterly and annual commitments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team is delivering true business impact.
• Cultivate a culture of excellence on the team through a focus on execution, quality, and scale.
• Guide the professional growth of engineers, providing relevant and timely career guidance and feedback.
• Grow the team through hiring great engineers.
• Model and uphold our values through building a collaborative, inclusive team with a focus on customer impact and building for leverage.
• Attend and engage & lead agile ceremonies and improve team’s operational excellence.
• Respond to technical and behavioral feedback from manager and peers.
• Play a role in developing and fostering Box culture in the newly created office.
• Represent Box Poland internally and externally.

Who you are:

• 10+ years of professional software development experience with an understanding of best practices.
• 6+ years experience as a Software Engineering Manager, with experience managing managers, leading teams owning high-scale production services.
• Fluent in Java, Scala, or other modern software development language.
• You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
• Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
• A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.
• Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.
• Manage and coordinate the team’s on-call rotation to ensure timely and effective incident response, actively participate in escalated on-call incidents to provide leadership and support, and drive improvements by addressing recurring issues to minimize disruptions.
• Proficient in English.

Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture. Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week, with a focus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
