Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Security Clearance: Secret

Location: Fort Shafter Flats, HI

(Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.)

 

Description:

C3EL is seeking a cleared Senior Systems Engineer to join our on-site team at Fort Shafter Flats in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for engineering, administering, and maintaining enterprise-level server and network environments supporting critical Department of Defense operations. This role requires expertise in virtualization, systems security, and enterprise management tools, with a strong focus on reliability, compliance, and performance optimization across mission systems.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Engineer, install, configure, and maintain enterprise servers, including Domain Controllers, File/Print servers, and Proxy systems.
  • Implement and enforce DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across all managed systems.
  • Manage and maintain Altiris and SCCM solutions for patch management, software deployment, and system imaging.
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) to enhance system efficiency and automate Active Directory management tasks.
  • Administer enterprise storage solutions (NAS, iSCSI, DAS) and ensure data integrity and system availability.
  • Support database administration functions for MS SQL and Oracle environments.
  • Manage enterprise DHCP solutions (Lucent, Microsoft DHCP, etc.).
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and Tier 3 support for complex enterprise system issues.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation and ensure compliance with configuration management standards.
  • Support cybersecurity readiness through regular patching, vulnerability remediation, and adherence to DoD IA controls.

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
  • Must possess a current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent).
  • Must possess a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience engineering, installing, configuring, and managing enterprise-level servers and systems, including virtualization (VMware), storage (NAS, iSCSI, DAS), and directory services.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Image deployment tools (Altiris, SCCM, etc.)
    • STIG implementation and system hardening
    • Help Desk technologies (Altiris, Remedy, etc.)
    • Patch management systems (WSUS, SCCM, Altiris, etc.)
    • Enterprise antivirus solutions (Symantec, McAfee HBSS, etc.)
    • Database administration (MS SQL, Oracle)
    • DHCP solutions (Lucent, Microsoft DHCP, etc.)
    • Scripting and automation (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DISA HBSS 4.5 Administrator certification.
  • Over seven (7) years of experience engineering and deploying Altiris solutions (Deployment Solution, Service Desk, Inventory Solution, Patch Management, etc.).
  • Experience supporting systems engineering in USARPAC and USARC environments.
  • Proficiency with Dell PowerEdge servers, workstations, and laptops.
  • Experience developing custom tools and utilities to automate Active Directory object management and reporting.

 

Education:

  •  A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
