Jinks Crow, P.C. is a woman-owned personal injury law firm based in Alabama, known for being big enough to fight and small enough to care. With over 150 years of combined experience, the firm represents individuals and families in matters including personal injury, wrongful death, and product liability, with a client-first approach grounded in professionalism, integrity, and compassionate service.

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to support the firm’s intake and litigation support functions. This role exists to ensure a smooth client experience from first contact through key case milestones by managing intake coordination, maintaining organized case records, and supporting the legal team with timely, detail-accurate administrative and litigation-related tasks.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Communications & Marketing Director.

What you’ll do:

  • Intake Management: Efficiently manage initial client interactions, ensuring timely follow-up and comprehensive case details are gathered.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing updates and maintaining strong communication throughout the case process.
  • Internal Communication: Communicate with the team via Microsoft Teams and keep the responsible paralegals updated when leads are handed off.
  • Case Support: Assist attorneys by coordinating discovery, depositions, and other critical litigation tasks, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Documentation: Accurately input client/case information into Lead Docket (and Intaker, which works in conjunction with Lead Docket) and maintain detailed notes through the full intake lifecycle.
  • Lead Qualification: Analyze potential cases to determine qualification and assist in the assignment to appropriate attorneys.
  • Turndown Coordination: Prepare and send turndown communications for non-qualified leads, maintaining professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Success in this role looks like: responding to new leads within 24 hours, maintaining clear step-by-step notes in the systems, qualifying leads before attorney handoff, and completing turndowns (including the turndown letter) without leaving loose ends.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience Required: 2-3 years in a personal injury law firm, with expertise in intake and case management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of engaging professionally with clients under stress.
  • Empathy & Listening: High emotional intelligence, capable of supporting clients experiencing trauma with patience and understanding.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM tools like Filevine and Lead Docket, with a strong ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Follow-Through: Strong organizational skills ensuring timely task completion and thorough documentation.
  • Responsiveness: Commitment to promptly returning calls and following up within 24 hours on client interactions.

Why you should work here:

  • Empowering Environment: Contribute to meaningful work supporting clients through challenging times.
  • Growth Opportunities: Expand your role by supporting litigation and case management tasks.
  • Leadership Interaction: Work closely with firm leaders and gain insights into high-impact legal strategies.
  • Technology Exposure: Use advanced legal tech tools, enhancing your skills in a modern law firm setting.

Additional perks:

  • Flexible Work: Option to work remotely with coordination for global/offshore positions.
  • Competitive Stipend: Monthly compensation in the range of $1,500-$2,000 based on experience.
  • Work Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time, with possible light weekend follow-up coverage as needed to capture leads.
  • Professional Development: Opportunities for learning and growth within our supportive team environment.

If you are driven by client success and thrive in a legal setting where your skills can make a difference, we invite you to join the Jinks Crow team. Apply today to be part of a firm that values integrity, client care, and innovation, creating lasting impacts in the community and advancing justice. We look forward to welcoming a passionate Legal Assistant to our dedicated team.
