About the role:
As the Finance & Strategy Manager for our R&D Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future and strategic direction of our organization. You will lead financial planning and strategic growth and efficiency initiatives for our R&D operations to propel our company forward. Reporting to our Head of Finance & Strategy, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our team, leveraging your expertise to guide our financial decisions and contribute to our long-term success in the dynamic software industry.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of R&D financial planning - including budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting, and financial reporting - to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making
- Serve as the finance business partner to our R&D organization, leading budget forecasting and strategic projects in direct partnership with our CTO and broader EPD leadership team
- Own our hosting cost model and guide product margin forecasts and planning in collaboration with our GTM and R&D teams
- Lead pricing and packaging initiatives in conjunction with our Product and PMM teams
- Serve as cross-functional glue between our commercial operations and product development by creating alignment on financial targets and KPIs for new product offerings
- Partner with our CFO and Head of Finance & Strategy on our long-term product strategic framework, including opportunistic execution of M&A opportunities that complement our existing product surface area
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
You are a good fit if you have:
- 6+ years of experience across investment banking, private equity, or growth-stage tech startups
- Demonstrated mastery of concepts and best practices for forecasting margins
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for executive decision-making
- Strong business acumen and ability to partner with senior executives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Worked asynchronously as part of a fully-remote, distributed team
You'll have an edge if you have:
- Experience working in a remote-first or distributed team environment, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities associated with remote work
- Knowledge of enterprise software industry dynamics, including SaaS business models, subscription-based pricing strategies, and recurring revenue models
- Familiarity with financial modeling tools, ERP systems, and business intelligence platforms to streamline financial processes and enhance decision-making capabilities
- Proven ability to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving business landscape, demonstrating resilience, flexibility, and a growth mindset
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $150,000 - $176,000
