Purpose

The Sr. Manager, Demand Planning plays a critical role in ensuring the alignment of supply and demand across Divergent’s operations, enabling the company to revolutionize manufacturing and deliver on its A&D pipeline, Czinger production schedule, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) projects. This role is responsible for leading the Demand Planning team in developing accurate forecasts, implementing efficient planning processes, and driving cross-functional collaboration to meet customer expectations and achieve operational excellence. By leveraging data-driven insights, advanced analytics, and innovative approaches, the Sr. Manager ensures that Divergent maintains its leadership in adaptive manufacturing while supporting growth, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.

The Role

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead and manage the Demand Planning team, including Material Planners, to ensure alignment with company objectives and successful execution of supply chain strategies. Mentor team members to foster professional growth and create a high-performing team culture.
  • Forecasting and Capacity Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of accurate forecasting models and Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to support Divergent’s A&D pipeline and Czinger production schedules. Ensure that forecasts are data-driven, actionable, and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Program Management to align priorities, balance competing demands, and ensure synchronized planning processes. Facilitate Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to drive alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve demand signal accuracy, planning message quality, and inventory management. Spearhead initiatives to integrate advanced analytics, automation, and best practices into the planning function.
  • Reporting and Communication: Regularly communicate demand forecasts, planning metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership. Ensure clear and consistent updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Change Management: Lead and support change initiatives, including the introduction of new tools, processes, and products, ensuring the demand planning team and cross-functional stakeholders adapt effectively.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor demand variability, address forecast discrepancies, and collaborate with supply chain teams to achieve on-time delivery performance. Champion the development of SOPs for Demand Planning and lead the deployment of the S&OP process.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or related fields, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Proven expertise in forecasting, demand analytics, and resource planning, with a demonstrated ability to implement and improve planning models.
  • Proficiency with demand planning software, inventory management systems, and ERP/MRP systems (experience with Oracle Cloud preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on data-driven insights.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience interfacing with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, balancing competing priorities.
  • Solid knowledge of demand planning tools and methodologies, with a passion for driving innovation and sustainability in the supply chain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in high-growth or start-up environments, ideally in manufacturing, technology, or automotive sectors.
  • Advanced technical skills, including SQL, Python, or other programming languages, and proficiency with data visualization tools like Power BI or Splunk.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement S&OP processes, ensuring alignment across multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing systems, MES tools, and smart factory operations.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with complex and evolving Bills of Material.

Work Environment

  • This role operates in both office and manufacturing floor environments, requiring occasional interaction with production teams to address planning and operational needs.
  • Minimal travel may be required to support supplier or customer engagements, and program launches.

Compensation

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels M06 - M07 as evaluated through our interview process. 

  • Manager / M06: $121,465 - $167,025
  • Senior Manager / M07: $140,930 - $193,758
