Streaming Operations Specialist
KICK is looking for a Streaming Operations Specialist to power our biggest moments and support our top creators.

Your role with us:
Lead end-to-end readiness for KICK's largest events, configure and troubleshoot SRT and RTMP transport protocols and build and maintain video services within AWS. Working closely with engineering teams to drive pipeline observability and own resolution of complex playback issues across CTV, mobile and web. This role calls for broadcast depth and engineering capability in equal measure.

What you will do:
- Own end-to-end event readiness - planning, testing and validating live streaming workflows from acquisition to delivery.
- Serve as the SME for video acquisition, including IP-based transport protocols (SRT, RTMP) and alternative services such as satellite when required.
- Maintain documentation of streaming infrastructure, connectivity paths and dependencies.
- Track and report operational metrics (audience size, stream performance, platform health) to support post-event analysis and continuous improvement.
- Audit broadcast and internet connectivity infrastructure - routers, firewalls and related systems to ensure performance and resilience.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams building applications, tools and viewer services.
- Design and maintain internal tools and dashboards to monitor video pipeline performance across efficiency, cost and reliability.
- Debug and resolve complex playback issues across CTV, mobile and web, collaborating with engineering on critical delivery incidents.
- Apply expertise in FFmpeg and AWS to improve encoding, packaging and delivery workflows.
What you will bring:
- Hands-on development experience building tools for video streaming, with deep expertise in FFmpeg and AWS
- Strong command of video acquisition and transport protocols - SRT, RTMP and AWS MediaConnect
- Proven ability to debug and resolve complex playback issues across CTV, mobile and web
- Experience leading live event operations end-to-end, from infrastructure management to incident response
- A natural communicator who can align engineering, operations and creator-facing teams under pressure
Bonus points if you also have:
- Experience with professional playout systems (Grass Valley AAMP or similar) and SDI/NDI transport
- Hands-on work with cloud video workflows across AWS, GCP or Azure
- Familiarity with observability tooling - Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog
- Knowledge of video advertising standards (VAST, OpenRTB) and ad pod delivery across CTV and programmatic
- A background in creator economy platforms or large-scale media tech
