We are seeking a seasoned Controller to lead and scale our global accounting function across multiple legal entities. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible managing the accounting team and overseeing consolidated financial reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, Colombian regulations, and building a robust internal control framework. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in accounting operations, including entity consolidations, intercompany transactions, financial reporting, and U.S. statutory/tax reporting. You will play a critical role in driving financial accuracy, process excellence, and leadership as we continue to grow our operations. This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple functions, including Accounting, Reporting, Compliance, Taxes and Treasury, as well as be the key partner to Financial Planning and Analysis and the business overall. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, self-driven, possesses strong problem-solving skills, is detail-oriented, is a fast learner, and strives for excellence. They should be capable of collaborating with various departments to ensure financial accuracy, optimize processes, and support key business decisions.
Functional Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury.
- Lead and develop a team of a high-performing, accuracy-driven accounting personnel.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting cycles. Ensure the production of timely, accurate, and insightful financial statements and management reports to support business performance tracking and strategic decision-making.
- Manage the end-to-end revenue cycle, including revenue calculation, revenue recognition, customer invoicing and AR/ reconciliations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across all entities.
- Oversee timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns in the U.S., and collaborate with international teams and advisors to support global tax and statutory reporting requirements.
- Identify and execute opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, reduce manual effort, and improve the accuracy, scalability, and efficiency of finance operations.
- Lead the implementation, and optimization of financial systems and tools that support complex requirements such as multi-entity consolidations, intercompany transactions, and real-time reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax advisors. Manage audit planning, execution, and resolution of audit findings, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings, regulatory submissions, and financial audits.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA certifications are a plus).
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with 5+ years in a management role.
- Proven experience overseeing multi-entity consolidations, and U.S. GAAP reporting.
- Strong technical accounting expertise with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
- ERP system experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to influence across departments and geographies.
- An understanding of US and Colombian financial regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, keen attention to detail, and advanced problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear collaboration across departments.
- Fluency in English (+B2), combined with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
