Key Relationships
Reports To: Core Dev Engineering Manager
Other Key Relationships: Head of Development, Trading, Trade Support, Compliance, Treasury, Reference Data.
Major Responsibilities
- Work as part of Core Development team to build and support infrastructure, processes, applications, and reports.
- Partner with the broader technology team to create a modern unified, scalable platform.
- Develop end-to-end solutions leveraging the firm's data platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS), UI frameworks (e.g., Angular), and DevOps toolchains.
- Process and handle large volumes of data efficiently and optimize performance for long-running processes.
- Modernize the technology stack by migrating and rewriting windows server / MS SQL Server applications to AWS and Snowflake.
- Work on impactful projects across various business areas including trading, compliance, treasury, trade operations, etc.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 6+ years of overall experience with 2+ years developing applications related to trade execution or front office systems.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages e.g., C#, Java, Python. Strong SQL skills.
- Strong full-stack development skills, including expertise in web development using front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue.js, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying software on AWS.
- Strong understanding of memory management, data structures, and concurrency.
- Experience working with traditional relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud databases (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide support during market hours and end-of-day activities, as well as occasional after-hours support to accommodate the London team and handle critical issues
Optional, but Preferred
- Familiarity with asset classes such as Equity, Fixed Income, Options, Futures and financial markets in general.
- Familiarity with Order Management Systems
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
- Effective use of AI to optimize the development cycle
What We Offer
- We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $150,000-225,000. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus.
