
IT Manager, Crypto

Your Role:
As the IT Manager, Crypto, you’ll oversee the organization's IT infrastructure and lead the IT Support team, ensuring seamless technical support and system operations. This role involves building and maintaining the hardware and software systems, troubleshooting issues, storage, virtualization and managing a team to provide timely IT assistance to all employees. The team ensures that the underlying technology foundation is secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the needs of company IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure Management – Oversee the company’s overall IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and end-user devices, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Team Leadership & Support Operations – Lead and mentor the IT Support team to deliver responsive and effective technical assistance, manage ticketing workflows, and maintain service-level excellence.
- System Administration – Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory, JAMF, and Intune systems; manage user access, policy configurations, and security protocols.
- Network & Security Management – Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls; implement cybersecurity measures, endpoint protection, and compliance protocols across the organization.
- Cross-Platform Environment Support – Ensure smooth operation and compatibility across Mac, Windows, and Linux environments; provide support for both hardware and software issues.
- Automation & Scripting – Utilize scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate system administration tasks, streamline deployment, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Cloud & Virtualization – Manage cloud-based services (AWS or equivalent), virtualization platforms, and hybrid infrastructure integrations to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Application & Server Management – Install, configure, and maintain business-critical applications such as SQL databases, web servers (Apache, Nginx), and internal communication tools.
- IT Governance & Compliance – Establish and enforce IT policies, access control, data protection standards, and disaster recovery plans aligned with company and regulatory requirements.
- Crypto & Digital Asset Security – Collaborate with the blockchain and crypto product teams to design secure IT environments that support digital asset management and operational integrity.
- Emerging Technology Enablement – Explore and implement AI tools, automation platforms, and other emerging technologies to enhance productivity and operational intelligence.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Engineering teams to align IT capabilities with organizational goals, ensure seamless onboarding, and support technical initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 5-7 years in IT administration, system and user support, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience to manage and leading small support.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls).
- Strong knowledge of: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, JAMF, Intune, Active Directory, scripting (Python, Java, PowerShell), Mac, Windows, and Linux environments.
- Proficient in using AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with the crypto / blockchain industry is a strong plus.
- Experience managing ticketing systems and issue tracking.
- Solid understanding of hardware, networking, operating systems, and common business applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration, deployment, troubleshooting and environment.
- Ability to provide support for both Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills in dynamic, cross-functional fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS) and Unix-like operating systems (e.g., Solaris, FreeBSD, AIX)
- Mastery of shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Zsh) for automation, task scheduling, and system management.
- Working knowledge of server hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, storage (RAID), and physical server racks. Able to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Application Management: Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining various business-critical applications on servers, such as databases (SQL Server), web servers (Apache, Nginx), and email servers.
- Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, ITIL, etc.) are a plus.
- Familiar with cloud services such as AWS and related technologies.
- Knowledgeable in cybersecurity and digital asset security.
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Chinese) preferred.
Salary Range:
($120K- $140K DOE) plus
