Senior Product Designer - Health
We’re very proud of our achievements:
In July, we secured a $200M investment led by General Atlantic to help revolutionise women’s health, and became the first purely digital consumer women’s health app to achieve unicorn status! 🦄
We’ve had 380M+ downloads, have almost 70M monthly users, are #1 by installs in the iOS Health category, hit 4.9 stars on the App Store (3M+ reviews), are backed by 9 VCs, had a 40% revenue increase last year, and topped a valuation of $1B.
We’re a growing, ambitious HealthTech business building the essential digital health partner of tomorrow to empower women, girls, and people who menstruate with the knowledge and support they need to stay well and live better.
Our cycle, ovulation and pregnancy tracking, educational content and anonymised community platform have been trusted for years by millions to help them feel more in control of their health every day.
Now, we’re harnessing the power of data analytics and AI to build a smarter future, one where we all know our bodies better, with an aim to become the essential health partner to women worldwide.
The Job
Our Design team focuses on one (admittedly huge) thing, and we do it very well…
Making sure our users are at the heart of everything we do.
We are UX researchers, content creators and design experts, casting a laser focussed eye over the execution and validation of our platform and its features.
We’re building the foundations of a world-class function and anyone who joins will be building the future in the context of a hyper-growth start-up.
We're looking for a strong practitioner that will apply a user-centric approach to complex problem-solving and has a good knowledge of both interaction and visual design. You’re comfortable using data to inform your decisions and learn through experimentation. You’re equally comfortable communicating your rationale and challenging feedback that you think might have a detrimental impact on our users’ experience.
We operate in a fast-paced environment and get to directly impact millions of users around the world. As a proactive team member, you love collaborating with the other disciplines to explore different solutions to problems, and you work well with product managers and stakeholders.
Your Experience
Must have:
- 10+ years of experience designing digital products for web and mobile platforms
- A portfolio or case studies that demonstrate great product thinking, interaction and visual design skills, besides a clear process and business impact.
- Ability to lead end-to-end design process, from problem-framing and research, ideation and prototyping, to user validation and delivery of polished, high-fidelity designs.
- Passion for designing complex user journeys, attention to detail, and ability to communicate and articulate design decisions effectively.
- Proven experience of driving strategy and defining roadmap with cross-functional peers.
- Ability to drive usability testing with support from UX Researchers and highlight research needs upfront during discovery.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during design and development phases, ensuring that the product meets performance and quality standards
- Strong systems thinking approach and good understanding of Design Systems and A11Y, striving for consistency, scalability, and inclusivity at all times.
- Experience mentoring more junior designers
- Competence in Figma and common design tools
- Ability to create interactive prototypes, bonus if you use Protopie and/or AfterEffects
Nice to have:
- Prior experience working in healthcare, but not essential
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Empower women, girls, and people who menstruate to better understand their bodies and be on top of their health. Be a champion for our users, ensuring their needs and perspectives are at the forefront of every design decision.
- Lead design for very complex projects, working alongside your cross-functional peers and stakeholders to deliver impact for our users and the business.
- Collaborate closely with researchers and data analysts and develop research plans that will help shape the direction of our product. You will use data-driven insights to design exceptional user-centred experiences that meet the needs of our users and drive business success.
- Shape initiatives and define product roadmap alongside your cross-functional peers.
- Evolve design concepts and user journeys from early-stage prototypes into visually delightful high-fidelity mock-ups.
- Carry out discovery activities with product managers and other cross-functional peers and running ideation sessions such as design sprints and/or other workshop formats.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other designers, helping them with their own projects.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the team. Share your knowledge and insights through presentations, workshops, and other learning sessions.
