Job Description  

Fortune Media is seeking a multitalented and detail-obsessed Video Producer/Shooter/Editor to focus on creating original digital videos, including short-form documentaries, explainers, and interviews for both our Fortune Events and Fortune Brand Studio (FBS) teams. 
 

This role will sit within Fortune Brand Studio, the award-winning branded content team at Fortune Media, and is primarily focused on producing Fortune Events content for our CEO Initiative (CEOi) membership. The CEO Initiative is a community of global CEOs with the common goal of doing well by doing good. This Producer/Shooter/Editor would be responsible for creating engaging content that showcases the efforts of these members as they navigate the rapidly changing world of business. This person would also be in charge of producing custom sponsor content and backstage video interviews at our live events. 
 
When this person is not working on CEOi content, they will work alongside the rest of the FBS team on a wide range of documentary-style video, remote productions, showreels, and commercial video content. The successful applicant will have an online portfolio that showcases their expertise across event coverage, editorial content, branded content, and other commercial video projects. 

 

Industry experience: 7-plus years of video journalism and commercial content creation experience at a network/production house writing, producing, and editing digital video 
 

Skills required:  

  • Demonstrated experience in producing, writing, shooting, and editing original video content under tight deadlines 
  • Extensive knowledge of camera gear, audio, and lighting for a wide variety of shoots 
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, most specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects 
  • Ability to create diverse range of short- and long-form video content for digital audiences 
  • YouTube programming experience, including an understanding of platform analytics and optimization  
  • Experience publishing on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, among others.  
  • Ability to generate unique, original video pitches and conduct interviews independently 
  • Experience with motion graphics, original footage, and third-party footage to engage and educate viewers 
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and contractors to create video content aligned with the Fortune brand 
  • Willingness to switch gears at the drop of a hat, and jump into a project, no matter how big or small  

 
Additional Skills:  

  • General knowledge of current events, global business news, and industry trends 
  • Adaptability and flexibility to switch between editorial event coverage and branded content projects 
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and thorough in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport production equipment as needed 

 

About the job:  

Must live in the New York City area and have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Fortune’s U.S. bureau is based in New York City and is a hybrid workplace, but you will be based in the office for the majority of the week for meetings, studio shoots, etc.

Salary range: $70.00 - 80.00/HR  6 Month Contract - Potential "Temp to Perm" opportunity
