Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on cloud engineer to lead the installation of a new application in a serverless AWS environment as part of a pilot effort supporting the BM&A Organization. This role will involve using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for deployment, troubleshooting installation issues, and working directly with the vendor to ensure successful implementation. The engineer may also support future cloud migration efforts for additional products.
- Execute hands-on installation of the application using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
- Operate in a serverless AWS environment, leveraging managed services where Amazon handles patching and maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation and configuration issues in real-time, adjusting approach as needed to meet deployment goals
- Collaborate directly with the vendor for technical support, escalations, and integration guidance
- Follow cloud best practices to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable deployment
- Provide input and technical support for potential cloud migration efforts, assisting in the movement of additional products to AWS as needed
- Document installation procedures, configurations, and lessons learned to support handoff and operational continuity
- Communicate status, blockers, and risks to the broader team and adjust timelines or approaches in coordination with stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with Polygraph
- A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and six (6) years of experience in software development/engineering and four (4) years of cloud related experience. Ten (10) years of experience in software development/engineering may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Experience deploying applications using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services in a serverless environment (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues independently and pivot as needed
- Comfortable working directly with third-party vendors to resolve technical challenges
- Strong understanding of cloud security, configuration, and best practices
- Strong customer-facing experience, with the ability to lead demos, gather feedback, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Experience developing and updating technical documentation
- Ability to work core hours of 10am-2pm (exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
Desired:
- Experience supporting or executing cloud migration efforts
- AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
The estimated salary range for this position is between $165,000-$215,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
