Fraud Analyst
The Role:
The Fraud Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and mitigating fraudulent activities across our platform. This role requires a keen analytical mind, attention to detail, and the ability to act quickly to minimize financial losses and protect customer accounts. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in protecting our platform and users from fraudulent activities. Your work will help ensure our operations remain secure, efficient, and trustworthy.
Above & Beyond: The Impact You'll Make:
- Monitor real-time transactions to identify and investigate potentially fraudulent activity.
- Investigate and evaluate high-risk orders to detect fraudulent activity.
- Analyze patterns and trends in data to detect and mitigate new fraud tactics.
- Use fraud tools and dashboards to evaluate suspicious activity and recommend appropriate actions.
- Identify and report emerging fraud patterns and trends to enhance our prevention strategies.
- Prepare and organize documentation for chargeback disputes.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve disputes and verify transactions.
- Monitor and respond to fraud alerts promptly.
- Act as a point of contact for complex cases and provide guidance to teammates.
- Conduct assessments to verify user identity and activity.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging threats in the fraud and payments space.
- Participate in regular training and certifications to enhance fraud prevention skills.
- Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and policies to reduce fraud risk.

Technical Skills
- Previous experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with high-volume fraud management systems or tools.
- Strong written communication skills to document investigations and decisions thoroughly and concisely.

- Experience working in cross-functional teams to address fraud or operational challenges.

- Demonstrated success in independently handling large volumes of tasks efficiently without compromising accuracy.
- A history of meeting or exceeding performance metrics, particularly in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Technical Proficiency: Effectively uses fraud management tools with minimal errors, maintains accurate documentation, and develops expertise in the platform within the first 3 months.
Problem-Solving: Identifies fraud patterns and provides insights that enhance detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and align decisions with company policies.
Balancing Accuracy and Impact: Makes accurate fraud decisions that balance reducing chargebacks with minimizing negative impacts on net revenue and customer experience.
Fraud Prevention Impact: Contributes to reducing fraud loss as a percentage of GMV, improves detection accuracy, and enhances overall system efficiency through data-driven insights.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in fraud prevention, risk analysis, or a related field (experience in e-commerce, ticketing, or payments preferred).
- Familiarity with fraud detection tools and systems (e.g., Riskified, Forter, etc).
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools to extract and analyze data.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings.
Knowledge
- Understanding of payment processes, chargebacks, and fraud mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of industry compliance standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) is a plus.

At Gametime pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
