IT Technical Support Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Provide desktop support to end-users for hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi.
  • Assist with server administration tasks, such as monitoring performance, applying updates, and managing backups.
  • Respond to and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document technical issues and solutions for future reference.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on desktops, servers, and network devices.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support larger IT projects and initiatives.
  • Educate and train end-users on best practices for using technology effectively and securely.
  • Ensure security protocols are followed, including antivirus management and patch updates.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Assist in the setup and support of audio/visual equipment for meetings and events.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in desktop support, network troubleshooting, and server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network concepts, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Experience with server operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux.
  • Proficiency in using remote desktop tools and ticketing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
  • Full-time position with occasional after-hours or weekend work as required.
  • On-site role with occasional travel to other company locations.
  • Physical ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed.
