Training Manager
Summary
The Part 145 Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the training and development of personnel in accordance with the requirements of CFR Part 145 of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The Training Manager ensures that all maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) staff are properly trained, certified, and competent to perform their duties, adhering to strict safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The role involves developing and implementing training programs, managing records, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory training requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training Program Development
- Develop, implement, and update the organization’s CFR Part 145 training programs.
- Ensure training programs are compliant with EASA/FAA 145 requirements, including human factors, technical skills, safety, and regulatory updates.
- Identify training needs through gap analysis, audits, and feedback from internal and external sources.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all personnel receive the necessary initial and recurrent training in line with CFR Part 145 regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation regulations and ensure the training curriculum reflects current standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA, EASA, GACA, GCAA) to ensure adherence to legal and compliance standards.
Personnel Certification and Competency Management
- Oversee the certification process of technicians and engineers, ensuring compliance with licensing and qualification standards.
- Monitor and assess the ongoing competency of all MRO staff.
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of personnel qualifications, certifications, and training records.
Training Delivery and Coordination
- Manage in-house and outsourced training providers, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of training.
- Deliver or coordinate training sessions for technical and non-technical staff, including human factors, safety, and technical courses.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.
Auditing and Continuous Improvement
- Conduct internal audits of training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance training efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in aviation maintenance training.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the quality assurance, safety, and operations teams to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and operational efficiency.
- Lead and manage a team of trainers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with senior management to provide regular updates on training performance and compliance.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Extensive knowledge of FAA and/or EASA Part 145 regulations. Bachelor’s degree (B.S) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in training management, or the equivalent work experience in training management, preferably within an aerospace or aviation maintenance environment. Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
Relevant certification in aviation maintenance or engineering (e.g., FAA A&P License. EASA Part 66 License) is desirable.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other training management software.
- Knowledge of human factors and safety management systems (SMS) in aviation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other standard office software.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
The expected WA salary range for this position is between $100,000.00- $138,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
