The Senior Market Distribution Planner is responsible for leading the planning and execution of product distribution across markets to ensure high product availability during key selling periods (such as holiday season, Children's Day, and major promotional events), while optimizing inventory levels and logistics costs.

This role blends strategic thinking with strong analytical and operational execution and plays a key role in driving sales performance and service levels. You will own the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process for your market and act as a critical link between local commercial teams and global supply planning.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Distribution Planning

  • Lead the Distribution Intelligence (DI) process, including alignment of minimum order quantities (MOQs)
  • Translate demand forecasts into allocation plans by channel and customer
  • Define product and customer prioritization during constrained supply scenarios

 

Inventory Management

  • Own inventory policy at SKU and market level, considering ABC classification, seasonality, and product lifecycle
  • Manage inventory projections, distribution, and visibility (including shortages and close-outs)
  • Develop strategies to minimize post-season obsolescence, including liquidation planning

 

S&OE & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead the S&OE cycle with Sales and Marketing, aligning customer priorities, campaigns, and product launches
  • Partner closely with Global Supply Planning on production planning, imports, and supply constraints
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the market and global supply teams

 

Execution & Operational Control

  • Manage in-market inventory and customer allocation processes
  • Oversee purchase order (PO) management and sourcing visibility (arrivals, stock cover, risks, and opportunities)
  • Ensure on-time delivery during critical selling windows

 

KPI Tracking & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including:
    • Fill rate by customer
    • In-stock performance
    • Days of inventory
    • Demand vs supply match
    • Shortages visibility

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

  • 5-8+ years of experience in supply chain, distribution, or planning roles
  • Experience in highly seasonal industries (toys, retail, consumer goods, fashion)
  • Proven experience managing demand peaks, inventory allocation, and supply constraints
  • Experience with import operations (Asia to LATAM) is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, modeling, simulations)
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP)
  • Power BI experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP)
  • Fluent in English, Portugues and Spanish (written and spoken)
