CTO / Founding Engineer

They are an innovative startup in the incubation stage, dedicated to revolutionizing AI matching and user profiling through advanced machine learning technologies. Their goal is to create unparalleled user experiences by matching individuals based on nuanced understanding of their needs and preferences.

 

We are looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) or a Founding Research Engineer to lead their research and development in machine learning, particularly in facial recognition. The CTO will work closely with the founder to set the tech vision, strategy, and roadmap, driving the company towards technological leadership in the dating app sector.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and Direct the research and development efforts in exploring and implementing cutting-edge machine learning techniques for facial feature extraction, recognition, and matching algorithms.
• Work with the founder to define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with our goal to redefine AI matching.
• Stay at the forefront of advancements in:
• Facial Recognition Technologies: Including CNNs, YOLO, SSD, FaceNet, ArcFace, and similar architectures.
• Solution Development: Oversee the design, development, and testing of scalable solutions for facial recognition and matching:
• Implement advanced user profiling via facial features, emotion recognition, and demographic estimation.
• Develop or adapt algorithms for real-time facial analysis.
• Ensure R&D projects meet business objectives and adhere to timelines.
• Integrate technological advancements into our product offerings, working closely with product and marketing teams.
• Specific R&D Tasks: 
• Explore the generation or merging of synthetic faces through facial embeddings.
• Investigate facial feature modification or enhancement via natural language processing and stable diffusion methods.
• Develop algorithms to measure similarity in interests or hobbies using large language models.

 

Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields with a focus on machine learning.
• Demonstrated success in leading R&D teams, particularly in tech startups, with an emphasis on social or dating apps.
• Expertise in machine learning, especially in deep learning for facial recognition (e.g., CNNs, YOLO, FaceNet).

 

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Python, C++, or similar languages for both machine learning and system development.
• Knowledge of secure system design and data handling practices.
• Innovation & Problem-Solving: A track record of innovating in system architecture and machine learning applications.
• Ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences, from engineers stakeholders.

 

Additional Desired Skills:

• Experience with ethical AI, particularly in reducing bias in facial recognition algorithms.
