Principal UX Designer – Mobile Experiences

Location: Mountain View, CA

We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Principal UX Designer with deep mobile expertise. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to set visions and bring them to life across our suite of mobile applications. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a holistic mindset who can navigate and resolve complex mobile design challenges at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design mobile-first user experiences by synthesizing insights, business goals, and technical constraints.

  • Lead strategic planning of mobile UX initiatives and champion innovative, research-backed design solutions.

  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity visual designs for mobile platforms.

  • Independently solve mobile UX problems of broad scope and complexity.

  • Validate design decisions through user research and usability testing, with a focus on mobile audiences.

  • Present and articulate mobile design solutions to stakeholders, executives, and product/engineering partners.

  • Contribute to mobile UX design standards and best practices within the organization.

  • Mentor other designers in mobile UX principles, practices, and execution.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build mobile-first customer experiences.

  • Produce clear design artifacts such as wireframes, process flows, prototypes, and videos.

  • Incorporate user feedback and performance data to optimize mobile UX.

  • Drive high standards for mobile interaction design, visual design, and usability.

  • Promote a mobile-first culture and influence broader product strategy through design leadership.


Basic Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX design, interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years of UX design experience, including at least 5 years focused on mobile UX for iOS and/or Android platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience leading the UX process for mobile-first projects, from strategy to execution.

  • A strong, mobile-focused design portfolio showcasing shipped products and leadership-level impact.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools for mobile UX, including prototyping and user testing.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply user-centered design principles to create effective mobile experiences.

  • Experience collaborating directly with product managers and engineers on mobile application development.

  • Strong understanding of mobile-specific information architecture and interaction design best practices.

  • Ability to independently manage and deliver multiple mobile UX projects of significant scope and complexity.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current trends, standards, and technologies in mobile UI/UX design.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, iterative development environment.

  • Experience using tools like Figma to design and prototype mobile-first solutions.

  • Ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data into actionable mobile UX insights.

  • Passion for crafting polished, user-centric mobile products that drive business and user value.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present and defend design decisions effectively.

  • Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and contributing in both collaborative and independent environments.


Location Requirement

This is an in-office role based in Mountain View, CA. We believe that in-person collaboration accelerates innovation, fosters team culture, and provides opportunities for mentorship and growth.

The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.

$250,000 - $300,000 USD
