Role Overview
ID.me is seeking a Technical Sourcing Lead to serve as a dedicated, deeply strategic sourcing partner within our modern technical recruiting function. This role will require being in the Mountain View, CA office 5 days per week
While all recruiters at ID.me source, this role is different. This is a true sourcing expert and technology evangelist, hired to take our sourcing capabilities to the next level. You will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of how technical talent is identified, engaged, and nurtured, well beyond traditional outbound and pipeline building.
This role is for someone who lives and breathes the tech talent market. You have a pulse on both micro and macro trends, understand what motivates today’s technical talent, and stay constantly connected to the ecosystem. You experiment relentlessly with modern, AI-forward sourcing tools and channels, manage automation and AI-assisted workflows, and build long-term talent relationships before there is an open role.
This hire represents the prototype for modern sourcing at ID.me and will play a critical role in shaping how we find, engage, and influence technical talent at scale.
This position is based full-time in our Mountain View, CA office (with in-office presence expected).
Key Responsibilities
- Own advanced sourcing strategy across engineering, product, and security functions, partnering closely with recruiters and hiring managers.
- Design and execute modern, AI-forward sourcing approaches, including experimentation with new tools, platforms, automations, and workflows.
- Operate and optimize AI-enabled sourcing tools, bots, and automation to expand reach, improve signal, and increase efficiency.
- Identify and engage technical talent through non-traditional and emerging channels beyond standard outbound and inbound pipelines.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with high-impact technical talent, independent of immediate hiring needs.
- Serve as a market expert on technical talent trends, compensation dynamics, skill evolution, and candidate motivations.
- Advise recruiters and hiring managers on sourcing strategy, market availability, and competitive positioning.
- Continuously experiment with messaging, channels, and engagement strategies to improve response rates and candidate quality.
- Maintain strong talent maps and talent communities aligned to current and future hiring priorities.
- Partner with recruiters to ensure sourced talent transitions smoothly into high-quality candidate experiences.
- Share insights and best practices across the recruiting team to elevate overall sourcing capability.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of technical sourcing experience in startup or high-growth environments hiring against a high technical bar.
- 1+ years experience with modern sourcing tools, platforms, and AI-enabled sourcing workflows.
- Strong understanding of sourcing for technical roles, skill sets, and career paths across multiple domains.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of sourcing hard-to-find technical talent across engineering, product, and/or security roles.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term talent relationships, not just short-term pipelines.
- High technical curiosity and a genuine interest in emerging technologies and talent trends.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and experimenting to find what works.
- Hands-on experience managing or configuring AI-driven sourcing tools, bots, or automation workflows.
- Experience building talent communities or long-term nurture programs.
- Early career experience in agency sourcing or search, followed by in-house roles.
- A reputation as a go-to sourcing expert within prior organizations or networks.
