Summary/Overview:

The Product Owner will play a key role in supporting the Head of KBRA Direct Lending and Private Markets, driving the execution of product strategies and turning ideas into reality. This role requires a deep understanding of direct lending, private markets, and B2B product management. The Product Owner will manage the development and delivery of innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with market needs and organizational goals. The role encompasses responsibilities for building internal capabilities to support staff in curating content and developing products that users enjoy using, with a focus on exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, knowledgeable about the domain, and capable of independently bringing ideas to life to allow the business head to focus on strategic initiatives like content creation and identifying new opportunities.

As a Product Owner, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of KBRA’s products and internal processes, working at the intersection of innovation, strategy, and execution to enhance team productivity, organizational success, and user satisfaction.

Key Job Requirements:

  • Product Strategy and Execution: Collaborate with the business head to define and implement product strategies, ensuring they align with broader business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, securing executive buy-in and guiding product development efforts.
  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with internal stakeholders to define product requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow maps. Ensure alignment with team capabilities and organizational goals.
  • Product Development: Oversee product development initiatives, managing cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions for both external-facing products and internal tools.
  • UI/UX Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure the development of intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly products that enhance the user experience.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and collaborate with a team of engineers, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and driving the successful execution of technical initiatives. Advocate for dedicated engineering resources for DLD-specific product development.
  • Vendor Management: Identify and engage with third-party vendors and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) to integrate solutions that enhance internal capabilities.
  • Agile Practices: Lead agile processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery.
  • Capability Awareness: Understand capabilities across the organization’s various pods, leveraging established patterns and capabilities to accelerate development and improve efficiency.
  • Usage Insights: Utilize tools like Datadog and Pendo to analyze usage insights from internal tools, translating findings into potential roadmap features and presenting recommendations to the business head.
  • Content Curation Support: Build internal capabilities and processes that enable staff to efficiently curate and manage content for external-facing products.
  • Process Optimization: Ensure that product enhancements improve internal processes, address operational inefficiencies, and enhance team productivity.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience.  
  • Proven experience in product management within the private markets and direct lending sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the private markets investment lifecycle, including asset classes such as private equity, and private credit.
  • Familiarity with modern data technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Experience in working with internal teams to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, UI/UX, and business leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of engineers, aligning technical execution with the product roadmap.
  • Ability to understand and leverage capabilities across organizational pods to optimize development processes.
  • Proficiency with tools like Datadog and Pendo to draw actionable insights from internal tool usage data.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently driving initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering user-centric solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices for internal tool development and optimization.

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $150,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
