About The Team
The Core Map Experiences team is responsible for the overarching end user experience of the Life360 app via multiple areas of ownership. The team owns the map experience and is responsible for integration of all features available in the map, most often directly and sometimes by opening map systems for other teams to use. They also own the application shell and information architecture, sometimes used by the Core Map Experiences team and heavily leveraged by other teams. Finally, this team is the end arbiter of the end-user experience, ensuring that all inputs from across all teams result in a cohesive, high quality experience for Life360 users.
About the Job
We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager II to join the Core Map Experience team at Life360. You will have a multi-faceted role that is pivotal in defining and implementing the future vision of the Life360 app experience. The role will have to operate both broadly and at the detail level to ensure Life360’s experience is delightful and magical while hitting the mark as the #1 app for everyday family life.
The US-based salary range for this position is $172,500 to $253,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
What You’ll Do
In this high-level IC role we expect you to be well-rounded in all areas, the specific areas of emphasis will be on the following pillars:
- Strategic Product Leadership - Define, communicate and execute a product vision in service of the Group and Company strategy to maximize user engagement and retention. Collaborate with executive and operating-group teams to align product goals with overall business objectives.
- Northstar Development - In conjunction with the Director of Product, Devices and the Design organization, you will craft and continually refine a long term Northstar vision to support your product strategy and your team will use to execute towards a long term goal.
- Team Driver - You’ll be embedded with the Core Map Experience team, understanding customer needs of end-users and business partners, ensuring that the team is executing on a focused roadmap, and measuring impact at every point along the journey.
Team Catalyst - Work with Engineering and Design and act as an accelerator to bring new experiences to customers faster and ensure we develop feature platforms that are easily extended and expanded to new use cases.
- Data-Informed - Define the success criteria for initiatives, using opportunity sizing to prioritize initiatives and understand how audiences are responding to the experiences created for them.
- Leading Through Influence - Evangelizes their roadmap across the company, gaining and maintaining allies and support for key initiatives.
- Craftsmanship - Hold all parts of the team, Product, Design, and Engineering to the highest standards of craftsmanship in service of delivering an exceptional user experience.
User-Centric Approach - Use a deep understanding of our customers wants and needs combined with extreme attention to detail to deliver a world-class experience that pushes the customer experience and the business forward.
What We’re Looking For
- 6 - 8 years experience in product management with digital services
- You are an experienced leader with a track record of building stellar experiences
- You’ve led the creation and delivery of high-impact products, and have brought exceptionally delightful products or features to market
- You have an eye for high quality experiences and a reputation for valuing user experience and building high quality and delightful products
- You have technical experience, either directly through engineering roles or via system level design roles.
- You are great at analyzing data and enjoy looking closely at the numbers to understand how users are engaging with a product and whether a strategy is working. You also balance data with conviction when you are confident a path is correct.
- You understand the value of and have experience building platforms, not features.
- You are a strong strategic thinker and storyteller with the ability to motivate and inspire your team around a shared vision.
- You are a passionate believer that design and user experience are a competitive differentiator. Data informs you, but user experience excellence takes precedence.
- You believe that to succeed in your role, staying hands on and getting into the details is critical.
- You are known for being able to have tough direct conversations while also remaining kind and respectful.
- You naturally gravitate to risk taking and big swings and are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
