We’re looking for a Portfolio Manager, Lending, to join our Financial Services team. This group is in hyper-growth mode, seeking an experienced professional who can bring this business to the next level, assisting with yield optimization, financial risk strategies, and market expansion. 

Reporting directly to the Director, Lending Portfolio Management, you will help manage the Merchant Cash Advance (“MCA”) portfolio. In managing the complexities of the portfolio, you will assess risk and the MCA loss reserve fund. You will also be responsible for ensuring the Financial Services Team is acting in accordance with servicing policies and procedures, providing training and professional mentorship across teams, identifying operational deficiencies, and working in concert with leadership to develop and implement process enhancements to ensure efficiency. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify opportunities to gain market share while maintaining defaults within an acceptable range as well as maintaining balancing growth and risk initiatives for Capital 
  • Evaluate partnerships that can help grow the Capital business as well as maintain existing partnerships
  • Create off-balance sheet financing optionality for Lightspeed Capital
  • Help set the business on a path to securitization, which would enable more flexibility
  • Conduct and manage processes with potential investors
  • Monitor the performance of our MCA portfolio (repayment speed, DPD, defaults, write-offs) to ensure we are positioned to meet investor’s return expectations
  • Identify, manage and drive the development of the capabilities required to operate with external financing partners
  • Negotiate legal agreements with sophisticated investors; ability to appropriately represent business needs to reach favorable outcomes 
  • Manage relationships with Finance, Risk, Go-to-Market, and Operations on the scoping and delivery of initiatives focused on managing our MCA portfolio
  • Responsible for coaching, facilitation and preparation of cross-functional materials
  • Prepare executive summary for the board and higher management
  • Work closely with global stakeholders to implement credit loss & fraud prevention solutions.

What you need to bring:

  • 6+ years in strategic finance, capital markets or banking
  • Understanding and experience in setting up and operating forward flow programs
  • Knowledge of modeling approaches for business financials
  • Practical understanding of data science (segmentation, modeling, etc.) and SQL
  • Working with global stakeholders, specifically in the United States
