What You’ll Be Doing

As a Financial Analyst at Lightspeed Commerce, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our financial operations and strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will be distributed as follows:

Capital Business Support: Collaborate with our financial solutions team to analyze funding volumes, repayment trends, and portfolio performance. Support risk assessment and underwriting by tracking key portfolio metrics. Develop and automate financial reports and dashboards to monitor trends.

Financial Modeling and Strategy: Lead forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis. Build and refine financial models for revenue projections and scenario analysis. Collaborate with finance leadership to align financial insights with company strategy.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Extract, clean, and analyze data from systems such as BigQuery and Looker. Design and maintain data-driven financial dashboards. Utilize SQL and Python (if applicable) to query and manipulate large datasets, identifying trends and actionable insights.

What You Need to Bring

Experience & Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
    • 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, investment banking, or corporate finance.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
    • Comfortable working with large datasets and leveraging data to drive insights.
    • Strong SQL skills for querying financial and operational data.
    • Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other BI tools (or willingness to learn).

Communication & Collaboration:

    • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Attitude:

    • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to solve problems.
    • Curious and eager to develop expertise in finance and strategic initiatives.
      Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Passionate about process improvement and finding innovative solutions.

Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have)

    • Experience with financial services, lending, or alternative finance.
    • Familiarity with BigQuery and financial database management.
    • Understanding of capital allocation or investment analysis.
    • Ability to use Python or R for advanced data analysis and modeling.
