
Sr. Prototype Shop Project Manager, Vehicle Integration
As Sr. Prototype Shop Project Manager, Vehicle Integration, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the scheduling and processing of projects both externally, utilizing an established network of 3rd party vendors and suppliers, as well as internally in both 3D Print Lab and Prototype Machine Shop. Our ideal candidate is experienced in project management, time and process estimation, CNC and additive machine process methodology, material and tool sourcing, consumables tracking and ordering as well as budget planning and OPEX cost estimation. The ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be excellent at multi-tasking.
The Role:
- Demonstrated understanding of 3D printers, CNC machines and machine shop tools
- Review project submittals for feasibility and manufacturability, providing DFM feedback as necessary.
- Schedule and track all incoming project request submittals both internally and externally, allocating internal resources effectively and efficiently.
- Assess and maintain inventory of tools and consumables
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the various shop spaces
- Keep track of maintenance and servicing of shop equipment (CNC machines, other machine tools, 3D printers, etc.) and schedule PMs according to project schedules
- Handle shipping and receiving requests of jobs, shop supplies, as well as handling expedited shipping of special project parts
- Assist the Manager of each area with tasks relating to special projects
- Assist technicians with small tasks as needed
- Coordinate with facilities on maintenance and space updates
- Coordinate and track outsource projects with external vendors and suppliers
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience in a related field (Manufacturing, Engineering, Business)
- Minimum of 5 years of related work, shop management or project management experience
- Experience working with outside vendors and suppliers in order to meet internal lead times of projects
- Experience with time & material planning and estimation of projects
- Experience with MS Office programs, with experience in Excel; pivot tables and formulas
- Experience with ERP/MRP software (SAP/JIRA specifically)
- Ability to open CAD files and read GD&T drawings in order to understand what material(s) and tools are needed for a work order
- Working knowledge of different metals, including alloy properties
- Working knowledge of different plastics, composites and other relative polymers
- Basic knowledge of different 3D print technologies
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, bending
- Experience working with different cross functional teams in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Ability to multi-task by managing multiple project or tasks
Advantageous:
- Overdeveloped sense of accountability and ownership of issues
- Ability to accurately estimate complex part/project costs and timing
- Familiarity with GD&T and QC standards
- Familiarity with advanced CNC programming processes and methodology
- Familiarity with machine tools, job setup including jig and fixturing
- Experience operating manual and/or CNC machine tools
- Experience operating 3D printers and knowledge of the various technologies with their respective benefits and limitations
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$97,600 - $134,200 USD
