Director of Talent Managment
SUMMARY
At Magnolia, the Director of Talent Management will oversee and advance our talent management, recruiting, and training initiatives. This role will be critical in aligning people practices with the company’s mission and values, building recruiting strategies and KPIs, and developing robust training and development programs to foster a thriving work culture. The Director of Talent Management will be instrumental in executing organizational growth strategies and ensuring an employee experience consistent with the brand values of Magnolia. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Vice President of People and Culture and has supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement a proactive recruiting strategy that aligns with Magnolia’s growth goals and cultural values
- Develop and track KPIs related to recruiting efforts, including candidate quality, time-to-hire, and candidate retention*
- Collaborate with department heads to anticipate hiring needs and develop customized recruitment plans to attract top talent
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as universities, job boards, and community organizations, to expand Magnolia’s candidate pipeline*
- Implement and leverage recruiting technology and data analytics to improve efficiency and hiring outcomes
- Develop a comprehensive learning and development strategy focused on enhancing employee performance, engagement, and career growth*
- Create and manage KPIs for training programs, ensuring continuous improvement and effectiveness in meeting individual and organizational goals
- Work with department leaders to identify skill gaps and create targeted development plans
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs, including onboarding, leadership development, and role-specific skill-building initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by introducing innovative and engaging learning solutions, such as workshops, e-learning, and mentoring programs
- Lead initiatives to enhance organizational culture, performance, and employee engagement
- Develop and implement KPIs for performance management practices, ensuring alignment with Magnolia’s strategic goals*
- Conduct regular assessments of organizational effectiveness, recommending changes to improve efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with leadership to create succession planning processes, identifying and developing future leaders within Magnolia*
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on best practices in talent development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and organizational change management
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of organizational development initiatives, using data to guide decision-making
- Regularly analyze recruiting, training, and performance data to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and demonstrated experience in developing and executing recruiting strategies and a strong knowledge of training and development best practices and instructional design.
ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university focus on human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- 5+ years of managerial experience preferred
- Experience in negotiation, contract review, and strategic sourcing required

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
