About the Job
Reporting to the Country Manager, the Senior Business Development Manager (Insurance) will lead and grow MoneyHero's insurance commercial function in the Philippines. This senior role is responsible for driving revenue growth across motor, travel, health, and life insurance verticals — building and managing partnerships with Philippine insurers, brokers, and distribution partners, while ensuring alignment with regulatory standards in partnering with our Soliciting Official. The role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands-on execution, working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations teams to scale the insurance business and deliver an excellent experience for Filipino consumers.
The Senior Business Development Manager (Insurance) will be responsible for:
- Leading the development and execution of the insurance commercial strategy in the Philippines, identifying growth opportunities across motor, travel, and other non-life insurance products.
- Owning and managing key relationships with Philippine-based insurance providers, brokers, and distribution partners — driving commercial negotiations, performance reviews, and partnership development.
- Conducting market research and competitive analysis of the Philippine insurance landscape to surface actionable insights to drive revenue.
- Partnering closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to develop and execute campaigns that align with business goals and comply with regulatory standards.
- Evaluating and implementing sales technology tools and systems to streamline insurance sales operations, improve team productivity, and optimize integration with commercial processes.
- Establishing and monitoring KPIs and performance frameworks to ensure sales programmes deliver measurable results against business targets.
- Maximizing internal and external resources including strengthening MMX-partner relationships across billing processes, provider reports, claims, and customer operations workflows.
- Serving as a key escalation point for commercial, operational, and regulatory issues — working cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and finance teams to resolve them effectively.
- Working closely with the regional Commercial Leadership team to ensure alignment with company objectives and operational excellence across the insurance vertical.
In this role, we are looking for someone with:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 6–8 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the Philippine insurance or financial services industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated track record of building and growing insurer or broker partnerships in the Philippines, with a strong network across local and international insurance providers.
- Solid understanding of Philippine insurance regulations, including IC (Insurance Commission) guidelines, BSP-regulated products, and relevant industry compliance standards.
- Proven experience managing multiple insurance verticals, with particular familiarity with motor insurance and/or the broader non-life segment in the Philippines.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating BD or sales teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to commercial decision-making and performance management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with senior internal and external partners.
- Proficient in written and spoken English; Filipino/Tagalog proficiency is an advantage for engaging local partners and teams.
- Possession of a valid IC-issued Non-Life and/or Life insurance license in the Philippines; candidates holding both licenses are strongly preferred.
Good to have:
- Experience working in a digital-first or aggregator insurance model, with familiarity in online lead generation and digital distribution metrics.
- Knowledge of life insurance products and the bancassurance landscape in the Philippines.
- Experience working with or managing relationships with major Philippine insurers such as Mapfre, Malayan, BPI/MS, PNB General, or equivalent.
- Exposure to CRM systems, sales automation tools, and performance analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Experience in a fast-paced, insurtech or fintech environment, with the ability to adapt to evolving business priorities and deliver results under pressure.
