About the Role:
MrBeast is on the hunt for a Field Recording Mixer, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality dialogue for our productions. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing the need for costly post-production fixes like Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) by delivering clean, high-fidelity recordings. What You'll Be Doing:
- Work with our Audio lead in capturing all dialogue on set with optimal signal-to-noise ratio to provide clean recordings for post-production.
- Set up sound equipment including wireless systems, microphones, and communication gear for seamless integration with camera and other departments.
- Collaborate with the Camera Team to establish accurate time code to prevent interference during shooting as well as consideration for actor movements.
- Ensure organized metadata for simplified post-production processing.
- Conduct routine maintenance of equipment, perform frequency scans, and manage battery replacements to avoid technical issues.
- Deliver recorded media to the Digital Imaging Technician for backup and distribution, while preparing detailed sound reports for post-production reference.
What Makes You a Fit:
- Possess precise ears and a critical listening ability honed through training, practice, and exposure to various audio environments.
- Demonstrate calmness under pressure and decisive decision-making skills in fast-paced production settings.
- Familiarity with modern RF and recording systems, ideally with Wisycom and Sound Devices 8 Series.
- Show flexibility and adaptability to varying shooting conditions and production demands.
- Display technical proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing sound equipment to maintain operational efficiency on set.
