What you’ll do

The Supplier Quality Assurance – Natures Bakery Quality Team, is passionate about Quality and Food Safety. This position will manage Quality and Food Safety processes for suppliers, raw and packaging materials throughout the Natures Bakery network. This position play a crucial part on the new supplier onboarding process to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. This position will conduct quality and food safety supplier site audits. The position will ensure all necessary supplier quality related documentation is created, communicated, maintained, and stored for all related supplier approval process activities.

The role will work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that the Natures Bakery supplier network meets the quality and food safety requirements established.

This role will be an essential part of the Quality Team and will interact cross functionally with various Nature's Bakery departments, including Procurement and New Product Development. In addition, there will be interactions with the Nature's Bakery manufacturing locations, both external and internal.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the management and review of quality documentation using Tracegains software. Engage with ingredients and packaging suppliers to ensure all required documentation is up to date.
  • Manage the Quality & Food Safety portion of the onboarding process for raw & packaging materials and respective suppliers for all materials within Natures Bakery
  • Monitor, track and file all Supplier Non-Conformance events.
  • Manage the disposition of raw and packaging materials and conduct risk assessments, as needed.
  • Conduct periodic meetings with the various cross functional departments to review Non-Conformance trends.
  • Allergen Program management process
  • Perform supplier quality & food safety audits.
  • Perform annual supplier risk assessments.
  • Review and approve ingredient specifications.
  • Drive/ implement changes to supplier management program

  • Experience with GFSI Certification schemes.
  • Experience with leading teams cross functionally.
  • Food Safety/Quality background and familiarity with FDA Legislation and HACCP Requirements.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage various tasks throughout the day

You have…

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Biological Sciences, Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or related areas.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in CPG preferably in roles in Plant Quality, Auditing, Warehousing, Production, Continuous Improvement, and Food Manufacturing.
  • Experience with working in a corporate environment as well as manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with Quality and Food Safety schemes, e.g. FSSC 22000, BRC and SQF.
  • Ability to effectively resolve complex problems. 
  • Skill at influencing through strong relationships and expertise.
