Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
Neros is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to own the full lifecycle of our peripheral hardware products — from early prototyping through high-volume manufacturing. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at the intersection of engineering, operations, and quality, where you will be the connective tissue between design and production.
Responsibilities
- Lead Production Readiness Reviews and own the design package as products transition from prototype to full-scale manufacturing
- Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) improvements across the product lifecycle to reduce cost, improve yield, and accelerate ramp
- Maintain and evolve the Bill of Materials (BOM), proactively identifying and resolving supply chain risks including component obsolescence, alternate sourcing, and shortage mitigation
- Establish and maintain quality control processes, working with contract manufacturers and internal teams to define acceptance criteria, inspection protocols, and failure analysis workflows
- Manage regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., FCC, CE, RoHS, UL) from design through certification, ensuring products meet all applicable standards
- Serve as the long-term technical owner for released products, supporting sustaining engineering, cost reduction initiatives, and field issue resolution
- Collaborate closely with hardware design, firmware, and operations teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability are considered early in the development process
You should have the following
- Engineering or equivalent degree
- 2+ years experience in a hardware production environment
Nice to have
- FPV or drone experience
- Solidworks
- KiCAD or Altium
