NFL Policy & Rules Administration Associate (External Agency Staff)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Support the day-to-day operations of compliance department, co-lead in the fine appeal administration process. Assist in writing fine letters and editing relevant League policies for players. Support administrative processes for all accountability measures that occur on game day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of administrative services to the Compliance unit, including monitoring player compliance with League equipment and uniform policies.
  • Participate in Article 46 on field appeal hearings. Maintain all records relating to those appeals including written summaries of the hearings.
  • Logistical execution of the Discipline Appeals in association with jointly appointed NFL/NFLPA Appeals Officers.
  • Co-manage scheduling of both uniform and on field hearings, ensuring they are heard in a timely manner.
  • Main point of contact for the NFLPA, player agents and Appeals Officers for the administration of player fines and scheduling of appeal hearings.
  • Football Operations game and event duties as assigned by department. including travel to NFL games (preseason, regular season and playoffs, International Series, Pro Bowl and Super Bowl), NFL combines and other development programs, college All Star games, NFL Draft, and in-season and offseason meetings.
  • Other duties assigned by department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science
  • 3 years’ minimum experience
  • General understanding of the game of football

  • Soft skills or personality driven traits. Less tangible and harder to quantify (e.g. works well with others, interpersonal skills, teamwork, time management).
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong writing skills (legal/ technical in nature)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, good time management and organizational skills
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of information and documents
  • Independent self-starter
  • Thorough understanding of Article 46 of the 2020 CBA
  • Thorough understanding of Rules 5 & 12 of the NFL Playing rules

Physical Demands

  • Game day (including Sundays) and event assignments may require applicant to be on their feet for 5+ hours per day.

Travel

  • Limited travel to NFL games (preseason, regular season and playoffs, International Series, Pro Bowl and Super Bowl), NFL combines and other development programs, college All Star games, NFL Draft, and in-season and offseason meetings Games as needed. 25%

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • 40 hours per week with limited overtime (game travel, gameday in office or League events)
  • The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

Salary

$26 - $27 USD
