Sr. Coordinator, Labor Policy & League Affairs

Support the League’s enforcement of policies related to conduct, game integrity, performance-enhancing substances, and substances of abuse. Manage enforcement decisions, oversee disciplinary appeal dockets, maintain historical data, and develop statistical reports for analysis. Prepare pre-hearing discovery materials and maintain an up-to-date database of decisions and motions. Collaborate with NFL clubs, the Management Council, Finance, Security, IT, and other league departments to document and collect disciplinary fines, monitor suspensions, and track data across all policy enforcement programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the processing of policy violations by managing decision and appeals dockets and maintaining disposition, hearing, and post-hearing data.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of various databases to provide statistical insights.
  • Calculate fines and bonus forfeitures and prepare related communication to clubs.
  • Assist Management Council Labor Operations and NFL Assistant Controller with tracking and collecting policy-related player fines.
  • Administer and provide day-to-day management of the Club Salary Remittance Policy.
  • Draft chronologies, deposition/transcript summaries, and incident summaries for use in appeals and hearings.
  • Review and interpret law enforcement reports, pleadings, and other court records.
  • Assist Labor Relations Counsel with discovery, document production, and other litigation-related tasks, as necessary.
  • Assist NFL Information Technology by providing requirements related to the development of document and matter management systems. Participate in testing of associated systems as needed.
  • Assist Labor Relations Counsel with review of non-player employment agreements from member clubs and verify compliance with League rules and policies.
  • Maintain accurate hearing officer, Club representative, consultant, and expert witness directories.
  • Maintain updates to Policies, Salary Remittance, and documented business processes related to the position's responsibilities and requests for information.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree from a 4-Year College or University preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a legal or other business/professional environment.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional judgment, discretion, and trustworthiness.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Careful business and legal writing, proofreading, typing, technical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel including experience with pivot tables and general data manipulation, while providing insight and solution-based recommendations.
  • Experience visualizing data, preferably using Excel or another Data Visualization program.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing and multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under intense conditions.
  • Self-motivation and an ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to utilize available resources effectively to produce reports promptly.
  • Willingness to work overtime (including weekends and holidays) as appropriate.

Terms/Expected Hours of Work

NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.

Salary / Pay Range 

 This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.  

 

Salary

$75,000 - $95,000 USD
