The Business Development & Operations position plays a key role in developing NFL Brazil office’s business as the interface to key country stakeholders, leading and championing the day-to-day execution of strategic country plans.  This role will be responsible for driving key aspects of the business unit’s operations, including growing NFL fandom, amplifying and executing the international Games and in-market events (e.g. In-Brasa), supporting the NFL teams with Global Market Program and NFL Clubs’ relationships, establishing and developing the American Football stakeholder network locally, working with federations, clubs, other leagues and stadiums to grow the sport on the grassroots level and collaborating with all other relevant departments of the NFL and NFL International (e.g. Global Events, Consumer Products, Marketing, Commercial, Consumer Insights) to drive the growth of American Football and the NFL in Brazil. International growth and expansion are a strategic priority for the NFL globally and Brazil plays a key role on this pillar, this position will be responsible for driving key aspects of the operations in Brazil.

This is an exciting new opportunity to take on a leadership role in one of the NFL’s core business units and work with other NFL staff, NFL stakeholders, NFL partners, and NFL clubs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key aspects of the NFL Brazil operations, including:​
    • Local stakeholders’ relationships (City & State), federation and Clubs/Stadiums relationships​
    • Business Management and KPI’s
    • Global Markets Program​ and NFL Clubs’ relationship
    • NFL Flag Program and Youth Development​ working with Flag international teams
    • Brazil specific fan-insights, analytics and research
    • Support international media team on negotiations, day-to-day and relationships
    • Office management, administration (contract and supplier management) and logistics​
  • Special Projects and Business Planning​ in partnership with other areas of the Business
  • Manage all budget aspects of those operations (monitoring/tracking, KPI’s development and controlling) together with the finance staff​
  • Partner with function leads to ensure the Brazil office drives in-market execution and revenue growth along consumer products, commercial partners, media partners, ticketing & hospitality, events, football development, legal and others 
  • Main point of contact for NFL Brazil games, economic impact studies and stakeholders’ management
  • Work closely with other NFL departments on joint strategic initiatives​
  • Collaborate with other NFL territory offices and apply standards and best practices where applicable​
  • Coordinate agencies and service providers ​
  • Optimize and standardize operational processes​
  • Proactively identify growth opportunities for NFL Brazil​

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Administration, Business, Commercial/Sales, Marketing/Digital, Finance and/or related)
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in at least one of the following: consulting, marketing, sales, sports, media and/or corporate strategy with a focus on operations
  • Minimum 3 years management experience leading people (teams, agencies, stakeholders, others)
  • Deep knowledge of NFL, Clubs, key tentpoles, players, etc.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (both spoken and written)
  • Proven creative problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret insights and data to drive strategies
  • Strong communication, negotiation/sales, leadership, stakeholders’ management and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using PowerPoint, Excel and Word to develop presentations and budgets
  • Passport (for international travels, mostly US)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sports/Entertainment experience/background preferred
  • Not required for the position, but nice to have master’s degree or additional certifications - commercial, sales, finance, strategy, negotiation and/or leadership
  • Proficient on Digital terms, social media and innovation
  • Multitasking skills and good time-management skills

  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects, prioritizing stakeholder needs, and working under tight deadlines
  • High-quality interpersonal and influencing skills to work cross-functionally in a complex organization
  • Command of contracts and experience working with Brazilian legal professionals

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Travel

  • ~20% Travel (NFL & Clubs’ US, NFL international markets)

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • This role will require additional hours during certain time periods as well (NFL Brazilian games, Playoffs, Super Bowl, etc.)

Salary

R$315.000 - R$435.000 BRL

This role requires onsite presence at an NFL office or stadium location, and remote and/or hybrid working options are not offered.
