Football Business Strategy and Innovation Associate (Temporary Leave Coverage)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Associate role for the Football Business Strategy and Innovation group will help plan and execute programs and initiatives that support Football Operations’ strategic priorities. The individual will have the opportunity to coordinate results of several high-impact projects, tackle a diverse set of football business challenges, and partner with key internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. This position is for a temporary leave coverage, which will be an up to 4-month engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan for key football initiatives
    • Monitor progress of projects and measure performance to identify areas for improvement
    • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Business Operations and Planning
    • Develop presentation materials for management review (including for Enterprise Risk Management, Long Range Planning support, and business planning support)
    • Conduct research that will serve as the foundation to the strategic development of emerging priorities
    • Create and deliver routine and ad hoc reporting to inform management on key trends and insights
    • Assist with vendor procurement and contract management processes
    • Ensure team's delivery of daily, weekly and monthly performance measures
    • Assists with obtaining KPIs and strategy modifications for the various FOPs business units on an ongoing basis
  • Other Duties
    • Support communication and information sharing via Football Innovation Site blog posts and internal department dashboards and newsletters
    • Provide support across League tentpole events and initiatives
    • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in taking on ad hoc projects and organizational challenges
    • Other duties assigned by department

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or equivalent education
  • 3 years’ minimum experience

  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Passionate self-starter
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Success in cultivating collaborative relationships with both internal and external parties
  • Ability to work on a small team
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office – specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • 40 hours per week.
  • The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
