The Role:  

We’re looking for a new Account Executive to work on a large and exciting piece of business within the experience space at Ogilvy. It’s an iconic British brand, with lots of interesting and progressive projects on the horizon. 

You’ll be an integral part of the team leading on day-to-day projects, supporting the team and enabling continued growth on the account. You’ll have the opportunity to work with an excellent strategy team and exceptional creatives, plus unleash the power of WPP Open to deliver excellence in customer journeys, and campaigns primarily across owned and targeted paid channels. 

You are highly organised and accountable, and able to quickly build relationships and collaborate with the rest of the Ogilvy team including harnessing new approaches like AI to create extraordinary work from day 1.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Building brilliant client relationships fast 

  • Quickly earn the trust of your clients through great work delivered on-time and on-brief 
  • Listen carefully, understanding the client’s business and adapting the Agency approach to solidify client relationships with junior and mid-level clients 
  • Proactively consider how actions will affect clients; responding quickly to meet clients needs; resolve problems; avoiding over-commitment 
  • Understand the importance of account ‘admin’- setting us up for future success by avoiding cutting corners from day 1.

Delivery 

  • Comfortably take responsibility for successful delivery of the projects assigned to you, with support when you need it 
  • Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans 
  • Ensure solutions are best in class for both client and agency 
  • Identify when and how WPP Open can enhance output and be a champion and “go-to” for its use. 

Commercial Acumen 

  • Recognise when to escalate issues which have commercial implications, and how to manage these situations with your Senior Account Manager 
  • Manage the budget and timings on your projects, and work with your client(s) to manage costs and deliverables 
  • Have an appreciation for how to best utilize agency resources to deliver the work 

Collaboration 

  • Be aware of the role you play within the team dynamic, and be an active, positive contributor 
  • Problem solving & decision making 
  • Resolve problems and makes decision on your own projects, consulting with stakeholders as needed. 
  • Be restless in researching and understanding other approaches/solutions/perspectives to briefs 
  • Create relevant options for addressing problems/opportunities and achieving desired outcomes on your projects. 
  • Optimise operational efficiency by refining processes and workflows, contributing to better outcomes and increased productivity within the agency.

 

Requirements:  

Essential

  • Ability to travel for meetings (clients are across the UK) 
  • Ability to work in London x3 days per week 

Ideal

  • Telco, financial services, or utilities experience 
  • Appreciation for AI, data or martech 
  • Some social or digital experience 
  • Marketing experience – potentially through work experience
