About Ogilvy:

Ogilvy UK has been creating iconic ideas that deliver impact at scale for clients ever since David Ogilvy founded the company in 1948. The agency specialises in bringing together brand advertising, customer experience marketing, PR, influence and consulting, all fuelled by Behavioural Science. Our world-class award-winning creative campaigns deliver solutions for clients including Sainsbury’s, Lloyds Banking Group, Madri, Unilever and Mondelēz International.

Ogilvy’s influencer marketing practice is the largest globally; we are proud to be the most awarded influencer agency for six years running and the recipient of the Cannes Grand Prix for Social & Creator for two consecutive years.

Ogilvy UK also hosts the world’s biggest festival of behavioural science and creativity, Nudgestock – which is now in its 12th year. James Murphy is the CEO of Ogilvy Group UK, which includes Ogilvy UK and New Commercial Arts (NCA), a boutique creative agency he co-founded in 2020, recently acquired by WPP.

The Role:

As a Client Partner for Influence, you are the senior-most steward of the agency's largest and most strategic client relationships. Your primary focus is to move beyond service delivery and become deeply embedded as a trusted strategic partner to the client's business and its C-suite leadership. You will be responsible for the long-term health and growth of the client relationship, orchestrating Ogilvy's full suite of capabilities—from PR and Influence to advertising and consulting—to solve their most complex business challenges. You will take a helicopter view of the account, identifying future opportunities and risks while holding ultimate accountability for client satisfaction, commercial success, and the delivery of transformative, award-winning work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • C-Suite Client Partnership: Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with senior-most client stakeholders, establishing yourself as their indispensable strategic advisor on all matters of brand, reputation, and influence.
  • Strategic Account Growth: Drive the overarching strategic plan for the client, identifying and converting significant opportunities for organic growth that deliver value to the client and increase agency revenue.
  • Integrated Leadership: Act as the central point of integration, seamlessly connecting Influence with PR, creative, strategy, and other agency crafts to deliver holistic, multi-channel solutions to the client's business problems.
  • Commercial Accountability: Hold ultimate accountability for the financial health of your client portfolio, including annual forecasting, profitability, contract negotiations, and overall commercial stewardship.
  • Team & Craft Excellence: Lead and inspire the integrated account team by example. Ensure the highest standards of creativity, strategic thinking, and executional excellence are consistently met, delegating effectively to senior leads.
  • Strategic Counsel & Foresight: Proactively guide clients through the evolving market landscape, providing a forward-looking perspective on risks, opportunities, and innovations that will protect and grow their business.

Key Leadership Competencies:

  • Communication & Collaboration: Articulates a compelling strategic vision for the client's business growth. Fosters partnership at the C-suite level and orchestrates seamless collaboration between diverse agency capabilities to deliver a unified client experience.
  • Organisation & Resource Management: Architects the cross-functional team and resource model required to service a major client relationship. Oversees the account's commercial health, ensuring strategic resource allocation drives both client success and agency profitability.
  • Responsibility & Accountability: Holds ultimate accountability for the success of the client partnership, from commercial performance to creative excellence. Empowers account directors to lead their workstreams while serving as the key point of contact between client C-suite and agency executive leadership.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Acts as the senior strategic advisor on the client's most complex business challenges. Makes decisive, high-stakes judgements to protect the long-term health of the partnership and navigate market complexities.
  • Growth & Development: Champions a culture of excellence and growth for the account team. Mentors senior talent to become future client leaders and focuses on developing strategic skills that directly contribute to the growth of the client's business.
  • Ogilvy Values & Behaviours: Shapes a culture across the account team where the agency's values are lived and celebrated. Ensures inclusivity, fairness, and psychological safety, acting as the ultimate role model for the partnership.

What You Will Need:

  • Proven experience in a senior client leadership role (e.g., Business Director) with a track record of managing and growing multi-million-pound accounts.
  • An existing reputation as a trusted advisor to C-suite level clients.
  • Significant expertise in PR, Influence and Social, with a strong ability to lead integrated teams and strategies.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen, with proven experience in financial forecasting, contract negotiation, and driving account profitability.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to take a helicopter view of accounts, identify long-term opportunities, and define a clear path to success for the client's business.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to identify and create opportunities to collaborate with clients and within the agency, leveraging a strong knowledge of the agency's full range of capabilities.
  • Integrity and a passion for championing diverse thinking and building inclusive, high-performing teams.

How we help you Thrive:
