Role:  Junior Designer

Location:  London, England, United Kingdom

About the role:

You'll be the production design engine behind the assets that keep Unilever’s Foods consistently delivering visual impact at every touch point. You’ll deliver volume without sacrificing craft. Working at the intersection of brand design, food content, motion and emerging AI tools, you'll translate clear briefs, master assets and recipe content into platform-perfect outputs that build desire and drive action. We’re looking for someone who can nail the essentials and bring fresh energy — finding smarter, faster ways to deliver work that lands. Success means on-time, zero-defect delivery, collaborative mindset and professional attitude that brings out the best in the people around you.

What you will be doing:

  • Execute high-volume adaptations, resizes and localisations that meet brand guidelines, retailer specs and deadlines
  • Turn static key visuals and pack shots into simple, scroll-stopping motion (e.g., cinemographs, step-by-step recipes, stop-motion)
  • Create social-first assets (stories, reels, cutdowns, banners) plus ecommerce imagery, A+ content modules and retail media formats that perform
  • Spearhead workflow efficiencies using templates, automation and responsible AI to improve speed-to-market and consistency
  • Build and maintain tidy file structures, templates and brand libraries, including ingredient, claims and nutrition iconography
  • Collaborate with Senior Designers, Content Creators, Social Media Managers, Senior Art Directors to deliver right-first-time work
  • Transform briefs, master files, recipe content, pack renders and UGC inputs into polished, channel-ready outputs
  • Shape motion-first, mobile-first and ecommerce-first standards across toolkits and guidelines
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, retail media specs and creative tech to translate trends into practical production gains
  • Deliver work that meets SLAs and QC standards, including legal/claims checks and accessibility best practice

What you need to be great in this role:

  • A portfolio that proves strong layout, typography and digital design fundamentals, plus examples of food/CPG or ecommerce work and motion/animated social
  • Production design discipline that connects brand guidelines to flawless, scalable output across social, PDPs and retail media
  • Proven ability to handle fast-turnaround “churn” with accuracy, organisation and calm under pressure
  • Expertise in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator), working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere; Figma a plus
  • Experience creating/adapting assets for major platforms and retailers (e.g., PDPs, A+ content, retail media) and maintaining template systems
  • A talent for clear communication — you take feedback well and ask smart questions
  • The ability to learn fast and problem-solve, with curiosity for new tools and better ways of working
  • An eye for appetite appeal and modern, platform-native creativity — including responsible use of AI (e.g., Firefly, Runway, Stable Diffusion) with strong IP/brand safety awareness
