Role: Copywriter, 3 days per week, 12 mat cover

About the role: 

We're looking for a talented copywriter to join our team while our copywriter is on maternity leave. Working onsite 2 days a week at our client SquareTrade, you'll create powerful and impactful copy including straplinesheadlines, web pages, news articles, advertising, and marketing and sales collateral across both digital and printYou'll work as part of a creative team alongside two designers and a planner, using client briefs to conceive, develop and produce effective campaigns that bring conceptual ideas and strategy to life. This role requires someone who can not only craft compelling copy but also confidently present and articulate creative concepts to clients. 

What you will be doing: 

  • Produce original copy for brochures, leaflets, flyers, newsletters, websites and microsites, banners, invites, direct mail, advertising, marketing and sales collateral 
  • Work as a creative team with the Lead Designer and Planner to develop and bring conceptual ideas and strategic thinking to life 
  • Brainstorm visual and copy ideas with other members of the team 
  • Present creative work and rationale to clients with confidence, clearly articulating the strategy and thinking behind concepts 
  • Work closely with the team to deliver all copy to ensure consistency and accuracy across all messaging to the agreed briefs and established brand values 
  • Follow and help build a tone of voice consistent to the client throughout all copy and proactively make recommendations for the direction of client projects 
  • Undertake research and develop an understanding of the client’s target audience and competitor products based on data insights and strategy provided by the team 
  • Generate engaging, customer-focused content to add value to the customer’s experience 
  • Use briefs to create original on-brand copy across a variety of channels to a high standard, sticking to tight deadlines 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Technically adept and able to convert complex message into easily understandable copy, within brand guidelines 
  • Experience successfully managing cross-functional projects and possess well-developed project management skills. 
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to confidently talk through creative concepts and rationale with clients and stakeholders 
  • A true creative partner who thrives in a collaborative environment, working seamlessly with designers and planners to transform strategic thinking into compelling creative executions 
  • Confidently and creatively demonstrate ability working with both digital and print based projects  
  • 4+ years’ experience as a copywriter 
  • Ability to create original, impactful and engaging work for digital and print campaigns 
  • A record in creating immaculate copy that stands out from the crowd 
  • The ability to plan and strategize high-profile projects 
  • An excellent team player: collaborative and adept at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • The ability to write on-brand customer focused creative copy that delivers a consistent tone of voice 
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage workloads and multiple projects effectively 
  • Be self-motivated, proactive and collaborative, with a can-do attitude 
  • Versatile and adaptable, with a willingness to turn your hand to all kinds of projects across different sectors and formats 
  • A quick learner who's comfortable throwing yourself into new challenges and tackling briefs outside your comfort zone 
  • Curious and enthusiastic about learning new sectors, products, and writing styles 
  • Experience in retail sectors. 
  • Experience working with financial/insurance products. 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in: 
    • Digital 
    • Print 
    • Web Design 
    • UX-UI 
    • Artwork 
    • Production
