Director of Cost Containment, Customer Strategy

Position Summary:

This role lives within Pareto’s Product organization and is designed to support the leader of the Cost Containment, Customer Strategy function in developing strategic initiatives that support increasing both the marketable value of and the adoption of Pareto’s cost containment services.

Key Responsibilities:

Growth enablement:

  • Sales Enablement Strategy: In collaboration with marketing, develop and implement sales enablement strategies and collateral to ensure sales teams and brokers are fully equipped with tools, resources, and training to engage prospects effectively. Gather data, insights and feedback in order to iterate/refine approach and make continuous improvements over time.
  • Go-to-Market (GTM) Planning & Strategy: Partner with Marketing, Sales/AM, & Product teams to create and execute go-to-market plans and impact monitoring for new products and services, ensuring these align with broader customer strategy and market conditions.
  • SME/Sales Partnership: Act as designated Cost Containment subject matter expert to partner with sales/leadership on necessary external facing presentations. Design and deliver high-impact presentations for internal/external stakeholders and consultants/prospect/clients, ensuring clarity in messaging and alignment with the go-to-market strategy. This may include traveling or virtually participating in high impact meetings where cost containment SME presence is necessary.

Cost containment service adoption & engagement:

  • Customer Enablement Strategy: In collaboration with the cost containment team and marketing, develop and implement customer enablement strategies and collateral to ensure account management teams and brokers and their service teams are fully equipped with tools, resources, and training to engage their clients effectively in our cost containment services (covering onboarding, multi-year roadmaps for program adoption and improvements, vendor selection decision enablement, making it easy for HR to educate employees about our services, etc.).
  • Cost containment insights/intervention opportunities: In collaboration with Product and Analytics, develop strategies to share actionable cost containment insights with our customers that both help them create more value over time and demonstrate the value they are getting out of our offering. Identify and implement intervention-based solutions that allow them to take the right actions at the right times to create value throughout the plan year.
  • Experience partnership strategy: Identify strategic opportunities for partnerships that could have a positive impact on client experience or help us achieve our cost containment goals around ease/reduced friction, insights/interventions and enablement/adoption/utilization. Focus on solutions that solve common pain points that our clients have related to their benefits or captive membership that would further enable sales/value of Pareto.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ Years in a related role (experience with customer enablement and/or data-driven insights in a complex industry).
  • Experience in healthcare or insurance is particularly helpful.
  • Direct experience in sales enablement or product marketing, particularly in building frameworks, tools, and resources for sales and/or client facing teams is a bonus.
  • Experience in crafting and executing go-to-market strategies for products or services, working closely with sales, marketing, and product teams.
  • Experience leading the content strategy behind sales and marketing materials, including presentations, case studies, and one-pagers.
  • Strong project management expertise and experience overseeing development and implementation of key projects, especially cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex concepts clearly and effectively to various audiences.
  • Ability to handle fast-paced environments and find the right balance between speed and thoroughness to bring high-quality solutions to market quickly.
  • Willingness to travel or participate virtually in high-impact meetings as needed.
