Position Overview

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role combines software development and testing responsibilities to ensure our software is robust, high-performing, and easy to test. The SDET will use advanced programming skills to design and implement automated testing frameworks and tools, contributing to seamless manual and automated testing processes.

Key Performance Objectives

Within 30 Days:

  • Gain a solid understanding of existing testing frameworks, tools, and processes.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for automation.

Within 90 Days:

  • Design and implement foundational components of the automation framework for data testing.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to support regression and functional testing.
  • Integrate test scripts into the CI/CD pipeline for seamless, automated deployments.

Within 6 Months:

  • Conduct performance and load testing to ensure software stability under high traffic.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in a new programming language relevant to the role.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our compensation structure and business impact.

Ongoing:

  • Continuously maintain and improve the test case library, ensuring it reflects current software architecture.
  • Research and implement updated tools and methodologies to enhance QA processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on product designs and functional elements.

Performance-Based Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, Informatics, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3+ years in software development and testing.

Technical Expertise:

  • You have advanced programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, C#).
  • You know automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
  • You have a strong understanding of code flow and interactions between software components.

  • You have a proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence positive outcomes.
  • Anticipates challenges and communicates proactively to mitigate risks.

Problem Solving & Innovation:

  • Identifies innovative testing approaches and consistently improves processes.
  • Adept at finding solutions and facilitating cross-functional project success.
