Deployment Software Engineer - Robotics (DevOps) (m/f/d)

London

About the Job:

We’re looking for an experienced Deployment Software Engineer - Robotics (DevOps) (m/f/d) to join our client and lead its Engineering strategies. In your day to day work, you’ll focus on deploying, configuring, and maintaining state-of-the-art robotic systems — streamlining integration, automating deployment processes, and ensuring continuous delivery pipelines — and have the opportunity to contribute to various innovative projects. Our client is a cutting-edge dual-use technology company developing autonomous unmanned ground systems powered by Mithra OS and the Gereon system, offering a dynamic role with significant growth potential.

In this role, you'll:

  • Deploy, configure and maintain robotic systems including controllers, networking (CAN, Ethernet, wireless), and associated software stacks.
  • Set up and manage robotic platforms ensuring robust deployment pipelines in diverse environments.
  • Integrate and scale robotic solutions effectively using DevOps practices in production environments.
  • Collaborate with the software team to deploy, validate, and monitor firmware, drivers, and system configurations.
  • Implement and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines for seamless continuous software delivery.
  • Automate deployment processes with scripting tools like Python and Bash.
  • Work with testing teams to ensure systems meet operational standards and to support system-level debugging.
  • Document deployment procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

Your profile:

  • Proven experience in deploying and configuring embedded or robotic systems in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, serial, wireless) and fundamental networking principles.
  • Hands-on experience in managing CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps practices, particularly in robotics or embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments and familiarity with command-line tools for deployment, monitoring, and debugging.
  • Solid skills in automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash), complemented by a strong understanding of Git and version control strategies.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with ROS is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English is a must, and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Benefits and perks:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A shaping role in a growing dual-use company at the forefront of innovative technology in aerospace, automotive & defence.
  • The opportunity to work with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team.
  • Room for professional growth and development with participation in the company’s success.
  • Hybrid working conditions offering a great blend of office and remote work.

Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:

We believe diverse perspectives drive innovation and success. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all team members, ensuring equal opportunities and supporting a culture where every individual can thrive. Everyone is welcome to apply and be part of our dynamic team.
