THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Group Copy Director to define, elevate, and protect the Quince tone of voice across all brand and marketing channels—while driving results. This role requires a leader who pairs sharp writing instincts with a deep understanding of performance levers: they know how to make words convert, how messaging shapes the customer journey, and how to apply brand storytelling in a way that meets business goals. The ideal candidate is as comfortable writing a campaign headline as they are optimizing a product description or building a testing plan for email subject lines. They can switch between creative craft and strategic impact—equally focused on shaping our voice and proving its value.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and maintain Quince’s brand voice and copy standards across channels and formats
  • Lead and mentor the brand copy team, including direct reports and freelance contributors
  • Develop copy frameworks for new categories, product types, and seasonal campaigns
  • Partner with design, merchandising, and performance marketing to ensure creative briefs include sharp messaging strategy
  • Write and edit high-priority copy, including campaigns, video scripts, and brand messaging
  • Establish scalable processes for reviewing and approving copy across the org
  • Audit existing customer touchpoints for voice consistency, clarity, and quality
  • Collaborate with UX, web, and product teams to evolve and refine site and PDP language
  • Work closely with the social team on captions, storytelling, and always-on tone
  • Maintain a repository of messaging tools: headlines, CTAs, positioning lines, and story starters
  • Champion the brand voice internally and serve as a resource for cross-functional partners

 

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in brand copywriting or editorial, with at least 3 years managing teams
  • Proven success developing brand voice and messaging for consumer brands—ideally in retail, lifestyle, or fashion
  • Expert-level writing and editing skills across long-form and short-form copy
  • Strong creative instincts and experience partnering with art directors and marketers
  • Experience building and scaling internal copy systems, style guides, and review processes
  • Clear communicator and thoughtful leader who can mentor talent and advocate for copy at the leadership level
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, cross-functional environment

All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.

Pay Range

$160,000 - $200,000 USD
