The Role 
We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated engineer to join our Platform Solutions team in Schonfeld’s technology department. This team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our quantitative development platform and ensuring its high availability and scalability. Our objective is to provide a reliable, user friendly, fully automated platform that allows our developers and quantitative investment teams to quickly get up and running operationally without worrying about infrastructure. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership, a willingness to take initiative, be a strong learner, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll do 

  • Collaborate with quant and development teams to ensure seamless application deployments, and to establish comprehensive coding environments from day one.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management processes. We believe all infrastructure and tools we provide should be self-service and highly maintainable at scale.
  • Contribute and lead efforts to continuously improve the platform reliability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Infrastructure Management: Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles.
  • On-call Duties: Participate in L3 on-call rotations and incident response processes.
  • Mentor and upskill team members on cloud-native technologies and best practices.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one language, ideally Golang or Python, but open to other object oriented languages.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines leveraging DevOps practices.
  • Extensive experience with IaC and cloud provisioning tools.
  • Excellent cultural fit and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with Portfolio managers

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $220,000 and $260,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
