What you’ll do
Material Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate the timely availability of materials required for the Body Shop production processes.
- Collaborate closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure a consistent and reliable flow of materials.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in material handling and flow within the Body Shop.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and streamline material flow processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and production teams to address material related challenges in the Body Shop.
- Communicate effectively to ensure all departments are aligned on material flow requirements for Body Shop assembly.
Data Analysis:
- Analyze data related to material flow, inventory levels, and production schedules within the Body Shop.
- Utilize data insights to make informed decisions and continuously improve material handling processes.
Training and Development:
- Provide training to Body Shop assembly line workers on proper material handling procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in material flow management within automotive Body Shop operations.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines in material handling and assembly processes within the Body Shop.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role may be based out of a Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company.

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- 5 years of experience in automotive production and logistics (e.g., standard racks, logistics technic, manually and automated material flow planning Body Shop, JIT/JIS, 3PL incl. contract experience) strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and other relevant technology.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $90,000 - $100,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
