What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Development and creation as well as implementation of planning concepts and projects including the corresponding design specifications or general conditions for the Paint-Shop department. Ensuring of defined measures and development of techniques or processes including analysis and evaluation of alternative solutions under consideration of economic standards
- Responsible for coordination, planning and optimization of direct and indirect Paint Shop materials and -processes across different sequences in the Paint Shop considering the requirements of all departments, terms of quality, costs and process reliability, including recycling and disposals.
- Creation of production plans for all work sequences according to the valid time finding procedures. Ensuring and controlling the defined measures and coordinating the activities of the technical contractors
- Maintain and create an ergonomic and requirement‐oriented work environment in the Paint Shop as well as ensuring environmental protection, fire protection measures and work safety.
- Approval of technical specifications of production equipment and clarification of process and quality requirements with technical contractors as well as suppliers of Paint-Shop materials
- Creation of specifications, time schedules and investment plans, following economic standards
- Preparation of offers comparative analyses and purchase orders
- Realization of pre-series and production ramp-up to series operation
- Processing of planning orders, improvement proposals and change requests including ongoing revision.
- Coordination of related departments, R&D and operators with focus on the implementation of suggestions for the product design according to production requirements and the identification of optimization measures
- Assumption of special tasks corresponding to the skills and duties of the job holder
- This Role is carried out responsibly in factual cooperative collaboration with supervisors, employees, involved and affected departments - in compliance with existing guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Steering/coordination of external personnel /service providers
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 5+ years of professional experience in automotive production, with expertise in achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge of Paint Shop processes and materials
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in chemical-, material engineering or related fields
- Experiences in tracking, motivating and leading contractors in the paint shop environment coordination lab and production trials till realizing an implementation including final acceptance
- Joy to bring a diverse ramp-up group together to achieve a common goal on a technical base
- Talented in managing complex projects with skills in solving technical conflicts with an appropriate management involvement Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $110,000-$130,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
