Summary
The Director of Sales - SkyForce, will be responsible for leading and scaling Shift4’s SkyTab direct inside sales division. This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on execution, focusing on merchant acquisition, revenue expansion, and the development of high-performing sales teams.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep payments experience, the ability to design and execute sales operations, and a track record of building and managing sales organizations at scale.
Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Growth
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of direct sales representatives, ensuring consistent performance against growth objectives.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market presence and accelerate merchant acquisition.
- Build scalable processes for prospecting, qualifying, and closing new merchant accounts.
- Operational Excellence
- Design and oversee compensation structures, incentive programs, and sales reporting systems.
- Implement and optimize CRM tools and sales technologies to maximize productivity.
- Lead integration of sales teams into existing systems and culture.
- Monitor sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and accurate reporting.
- Customer Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with merchants to ensure a seamless onboarding and go-live process.
- Partner with internal teams—including Launch, Installations, and Customer Support—to improve outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Shift4 at relevant client, partner, and industry conferences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with product, technical, and operations experts to support merchant needs.
- Coordinate with project and implementation teams to ensure smooth go-lives.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align sales objectives with broader company growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
- 10+ years of direct sales leadership experience, preferably in merchant services or payments.
- Proven ability to manage and scale high-performing sales organizations.
- Strong understanding of the payments industry, hardware platforms, and deployment logistics.
- Experience with CRM systems, sales operations, and compensation design.
- Demonstrated success managing teams through acquisitions and high-growth cycles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
